My new Nokia 3230
Sep 20th, 2005 by Neo
Ok, this is not the latest handset. I know, but where can you get a latest handset for the price just above RM1k?
I did read some reviews at CNet Asia Reviews, and checked Nokia.com official website. Found this handset to be quite OK and handsets from Nokia should be of good quality, not to mention its user-friendliness should be of top-notch.
Bought it at RM1150. Nokia 3230 is a so called “smart phone” powered by the Symbian OS. This makes it very easy to install new softwares. New softwares can be transfered and installed on the handset by using an optional USB cable, infra-red connection, Bluetooth connection or using the 32MB supplied RS-MMC. I opted for a 64MB RS-MMC because I forsee I will need the extra space for some photo actions.

Testing out my Nokia 3230 with 2 different themes. You prefer the pretty girl theme or the cool Windows XP theme?
I must admit that although the phone can play MP3 files and even videos, but the sound quality is of usual Nokia standard - this phone is no different. Sound definitely is much better on a Samsung or a Sony Ericsson.
The RS-MMC card is hot swappable. However, it is located under the back cover. So, everytime you wish to access the RS-MMC card in order to transfer your files, you will need to open the back cover, although you do not need to switch off the phone - hot swappable mah
I don’t understand why they can’t use MMC which is more widely used and cheaper, and make the card slot more accessible.

coz mmc uses more voltage? coz it’s bigger?
nice phone but have you considered k750 before purchasing this?
Not sure if MMC uses more voltage. But it is definitely bigger, well as for the bigger size, I am sure Nokia can squeeze it in - can do even with a slightly smaller screen (this 3230 screen is hugh :D)
You mean Sony Ericsson K750i? I have given some thoughts to it, but I think the price for SE K750i is around RM1600 - RM1700? AP sets
Just how good is K750i in your opinion?
Thought of buyin the same phone, but ended up with Nokia 6681. I love it though
What’s the price of the N6680 now in Msia?
I can get the N6680 at around RM1400, Zitron hehe.
Nokia 6680 and 6681 are definitely better than 3230.
Currently in Malaysia, I think 6681 costs around RM1400 and 6680 at least a couple of hundreds more (AP sets). Are you sure you can get brand new 6680 Zitron sets at RM1400?
I bought Nokia 3230, it’s simple great to use. It has every thing in it, what I was looking out for. It is just outstanding. I wanna tell all my friends to go for it.
Can you please let me know about the best N-series mobile of Nokia ??

nav, you can transfer files to and from the memory card by using a card reader. Connect the card reader to your PC, then put your phone’s memory card in the card reader

Don’t be fooled, all Nokia phones are the best especially the series 60 phones 2nd and 3rd editions. i have a Nokia 3230 phone this is not a boring phone. It is smart that’s why they call it a smartphone. Your are not wasting your money when you buy a Nokia phone… you are wasting your money when you buy a Sony Ericsson. i have tried many Sony Ericsson phone and they are so boring. No wonder they never called there phone a smartphone so it’s a phone with a camera and no more. Well, there are Sony Ericson smartphones which are slow you can try there p-series phones. The best is Nokia all s60 2nd and 3rd edition phones are all smartphones don’t be fooled by the musicphones of Sony Ericsson, if you want to play good quality songs, then buy a MP3 player instead.
