I believe www is only a subdomain, and site administrators can configure ww1.hisdomain.com, www2.hisdomain.com, abc.hisdomain.com or whatever... Thus, if he so decide to show hisdomain.com as the main website and then configure www.hisdomain.com as another website, he can actually do that.

But for the majority, www and without www should go to the same website. If a website cannot be displayed because of missing www, then it is bad setup.

Hot-screensaver.com is accessible with and without www - this is good setup :D</description>
