Flock browser

What is Flock?
Flock is a new Internet browser that’s based on the Mozilla Firefox engine (the Gecko), but with goodies. Just recently, Flock has released a developer preview version for free download at their Developer page.
Why Flock?
Flock is based on the Mozilla Firefox rendering engine, this means that web pages will be displayed almost exactly the same as they would on the Firefox browser. Basically, at first look it is like Firefox with a new theme. On second look, you may find some goodies.
The Flock Goodies
Flock makes blogging much easier. Flock includes a blog editor that works with WordPress (and the new Wordpress.com hosted service), Movable Type and Typepad (and shortly also Live Journal) and Blogger.

Blog within the Flock browser using the built-in editor. Then just click on the Publish button to publish it onto your blog. Cool!
There is also a feature called “Blog This”, that enables you to blog interesting web content very easily. For example, on any website that interests you, just highlight on a passage that you would like to blog about, and click on “Blog This” that appears on the drop down menu.

“Blog This” can be very handy for blogging.
Flock is also integrated with Flickr - a picture sharing website. When you are blogging using the built-in editor in Flock, you can basically drag and drop pictures from the integrated Flickr topbar right into your blog post.

Flickr is integrated in Flock
Another nice feature with Flock, is called the “Flock Favorites”. This is just like bookmarks and Favorites in old days, but they are stored online - shared, searchable, and tagged. Simply click the Star icon in the URL bar and you’ve flagged a page. You can easily retrieve it later. The Star turns orange (and is orange the next time you visit the page, to remind you that this is one of your favorites). To store the favorites online, you will need a del.icio.us (delicious) account, head on to delicious to create one now.
Overall, I think Flock is quite good. The blueish skin it is on is truely awesome. It has a bunch of blogging features, flickr photo-sharing integration, and very nice favorites management. However, I don’t think I will throw away Firefox and Internet Explorer, because Flock is still only a developer preview and not a full release yet. Furthermore, Flock does not support those must-have Firefox extensions I am using on Firefox.

will wait and see.
so far I am very happy with Firefox.
although it is a dev preview, i find it sexy and nice. Being an opensource, it’s nice to see the codings and help in the development of flock.
i shall be posting my reviews on flock later on.
dun see flock as a browser ..
see it as a web2.0 service browser, i think it wont replace the normal browser, but most likely it will become a tools for user which using lots of web2.0 service
That looks really nice and convenient!
Have been a Firefox user myself for quite sometime now. I think I’ll give this one a go!
Thanks for sharing!
I think Flock looks good even in the developer preview stage, and it promises a lot of features. However, since it is still not a full public release, it surely has a lot of bugs, so be very careful if you use it.
Flock may appeal to users who blog a lot; but for a normal user, the cool look of it may urge them to download and try it
I downloaded, and run it now, and got a wordpress acct open for testing.
cool…especailly for those who want to use Wordpress hehehe…
thanks for you info, Jacky.
