I don’t believe this… I have been to Kuala Kangsar for so many times, but my girls never bring me to this nice place. During my last trip to Kuala Kangsar, I was so glad to have tasted the hot Kuala Kangsar laksa. Hot, because it has a lot of patrons and supporters; not because it has hot waitresses
This little stall is located at the back of the biggest secondary school in the town, SMJK Tsung Wah. Everybody in the town knows the whereabouts of this school. Okay, enough of talking, let you see some pictures. Oh, want to taste it yourself; then drive to Kuala Kangsar and order a couple of bowls yourself

The left picture shows the look of the laksa stall. It doesn’t look very elegant and neat if you compare them to Laksa Shack in KL. But it has some old original taste in its well known offering - the laksa. I was kind of skeptic too until I tried their Malay laksa at RM2.50 a bowl. I just kept on quietly eating until the whole bowl was finished. Next time, I must order a big bowl.
The right picture shows my bowl of laksa.

It won’t be complete without some nice desserts, right?
Try Laksa Pak Ngah only if you want old original Northen flavor, and you only have RM2.50 to spend.

aiyah..the laksa looks beli hot lah! can’t stand too hot but i like laksa..but the dessert looks nice!
it’s a hair raising experience to hear someone mentioning my home town because people hardly regconize the initial KK when I spoke of it.
The laksa was okay.. the best spot? I hardly dare to point since I am not much of an expert in Laksa. But I know it tasted quite good, since Kuala Kangsar’s laksa is the only kind of laksa that I actually liked. So I can say that the laksa served there resembled the taste that I sort after.
i dun like laksa. i’ve lived for 19 years, and i ate laksa onli once
but tat.. cendol rite? waaa damn nice, i love cendols/ice kacang. melb sucks ok.. all these dun haf. no kampua, kompia, nice kfc, good desserts. got also, sad looking one s and cost a bomb.
the best laksa up north is in PENANG!! penang laksa rules! best! but of course i’m saying this because i’m a penangite.
i love laksa and it is true in a way penang has one of the best laksa. i heard laksa in kelantan and johor are good too. i had try sarawak laksa from laksa shack in kl. not bad. still… yeah you guess it… penang’s the best of all.
nebo, you also come from kuala kangsar? ex-student from Tsung wah too? maybe i know u?? hihi…anyway, i am very old ex-student liao..
Wu Ching, believe me, the Kuala Kangsar laksa is not hot at all. It’s just different from the other laksas.
nebo, people usually thought KK refers to Kota Kinabalu. The laksa there is not the best, but it surely has some of their own flavors and taste in it.
Alex, I miss kampua and kompia too. For the uninitiated, kampua and kompia are Foochow’s (Majority Chinese in Sibu and Sitiawan) special noodle dish, and baked cookie respectively. They taste really good. But for some who are not used to the taste, they may not like them at first.
lucia, Penang laksa is very nice too. But, the taste is definitely different from Kuala Kangsar’s, you have to drop by Kuala Kangsar to try out.
Irene, sounds like you know a lot of people in Kuala Kangsar.
Cheers.
Yeah irene, I am class 2002, 5S1… I have no idea which irene you are though, if you are the same irene of class 2002 5S1, well small world and we just ate ice kacang yesterday.. HAHAHA
yes, kuala kangsar’s laksa not bad…but i still find the penang style the best…though it’s the diff type :p
eh..eh..jacky, how come now then u know ur gal so wellknown huh?? isn’t it too late…
nebo, i am your super senior liao…coz i am very much older than you.. maybe you know my niece… anyway, i am not the irene you thought…i am from Kg Lah singh…
Oi.. bad chopstick manners XD
eh ei, Kuala Kangsar laksa still the champion in my heart! Lucia, you should try (I don’t mind belanja you, haha!), then you will tell me Penang laksa only chair No.2! haha!
grace, i suppose you are from kuala kangsar? everybody seems to think laksa from their town is the best!
well as i said i had try sarawak laksa before and it is nice… as nice as penang’s. i would think that laksa in each place has its own unique taste (like what jacky and agnes pointed out). one can’t really say which is best… oops i take back my word in my ealier comment then.
and i wouldn’s say penang’s laksa is no. 2 either (after whatever laksa).
KK’s laksa is all about simplicity. You won’t see lots of stuff on top like some other laksa do. Anyway, irene, hahaha I so happy that I am so young! Your niece? Who Who?! I might know.
nebo, my niece was in form 4 in 2002, so she is 1 year younger than you..maybe u dont know her. anyway, what is ur name?? haha..maybe she know you..
Haha.. it’s okay.. i think you can see my name in my URL
[...] If you love laksa, you have to try Kuala Kangsar’s laksa. It is indeed very different from the rest, although I dare not say it is the best in Malaysia. During my last trip to Kuala Kangsar I have tasted Pak Ngah’s laksa, which turned out to be quite nice. It was not very hot, not too creamy, not too spicy… it was just simple and original [...]
