Microsoft @30 and Beyond
Nov 8th, 2005 by Neo

Came across this cool Microsoft mini site that was created in conjunction of Microsoft’s 30 years anniversary.
Bill Gates was just 19 when he and his school friend Paul Allen registered a partnership in Albuquerque, New Mexico, that they called Micro-Soft. It was in August 1975 then. Their first project was to develop and sell a programming language called BASIC, for the Altair 8800 machine.
30 years later, we have 60,000 employees and offices in over 60 countries around the globe. And we’re still dreaming. Bigger than ever. We hope you’ll enjoy this look back at the last 30 years of Microsoft and feel as enthusiastic as we do for what’s coming next. It’s a great story. One we’ve only begun to tell.

Play the Trivia. See how well you know Microsoft, its products, and Bill Gates. Preview some of the quiz questions:
- In what country did Microsoft establish its first international sales office, called ASCII Microsoft?
- In what year did Microsoft’s sales first exceed 1 million dollars?
Well, you can see that these quiz questions are not easy eh… Take the quiz, see how well you score?
While you are at the site, you can also send an ecard to a friend commemorating Microsoft’s 30 years of innovation
