Free Video Hosting from YouTube

A couple of days ago, I was searching for a place to host some of the video clips that I captured during my holidays in Hong Kong. I could have hosted it on my current hosting provider, but as you know it will surely eat up quite a chunk of my bandwidth as the files are not small. As I remembered some bloggers are using YouTube, without any hesitation I registered with YouTube - it’s completely free.
After a while of testing, I found that YouTube is similar to flickr but YouTube is for hosting videos, while flickr is mainly for hosting photos. You can upload videos in a number of different formats ( .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG ). Videos can be of any size, but must not exceed 100MB per video. The best thing is there is no limit to the number of videos you can upload
Once you have uploaded a video using their user friendly web interface, the video will not be available instantly for viewing pending conversion to flash format. Our tests showed that the processing time can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 1 hour. But after the conversion, playback is extremely fast in flash.
YouTube also encourages video sharing. You can add friends who are members of YouTube, and email any video to anyone. YouTube also provides easy to use copy and paste code for emailing and publishing on a website. You can also tag your videos for easy searching and identification.
In short, if you are looking to share your videos, look no further. Go sign up with YouTube for free today!
