CNY Vegetarian Lou Sang - Slow and steady
Feb 4th, 2006 by Neo
Today is the 7th day of the Chinese New Year. Traditionally, on this day of the new year, Chinese people had this practice of having a dish called “lou sang” - a dish of raw fish slices mixed with crunchies, multiple other ingredients and sauces of various kinds. All those present at the table, whether young or old or men or women, are actively encouraged to indulge in mixing of the ingredients simultaneously using chopsticks.
This year we had a different kind of Lou Sang dinner, a vegetarian Lou Sang. The dish consisted of various vegetables and fruits in small slices. I think there were cucumber, papaya, mango, pear, apple, sesame seeds and roasted peanuts. (Like rojak :))

Look how colorful was the dish of lou sang. And a healthy and yummy one too.
We can’t wait no more seeing the colorful ingredients. Then all the hands and chopsticks came…

Which one was mine?

After enjoying this lou sang and playing with the food (look at the table), we hope to have a prosperous year ahead of us!
