Classic Singapore Horror Stories

Classic Singapore Horror Stories is a chilling collection of stories that will take you on a roller-coaster ride through the nightmarish landscape of a very twisted imagination. Stories of such intensity and terror that they will leave you breathless.

This is what is found on the back cover of the book authored by Damien Sin.
The description and the look of it looks really scary and terrifying. But then after reading through the book late at night before slipping into my bed, I do not feel any terror at all. I personally feel that the stories are somewhat quite light and entertaining - at least they are not as terrifying at the Space Shot on Genting Highlands or the Dead Mouse.
Nevertheless, let’s have a quick run through of 1 of my favorite story from the book.
Great Pig Mother. This is a story about Diamond Dave Heng who was a gambler, who was down to his last hand. But, just when he seemed to have run out of luck, a widow Tay came to his rescue. Widow Tay’s husband had died years ago and left her all alone with tonnes of money and a pig farm. She was rich but lonely. She offered Dave her farm and Dave immediately agreed to marry her.
However, very soon Dave realised he was his wife’s property. And every night, she would climb onto him, whispering and purring lasciviously “Ummm… my husband… I want… I want…”.
What happened next? You have to read the book to know the twisted ending. Check out the book on Amazon.com.
I guess the book must have been selling quite well since there are sequels, book 2, book 3 and book 4. At least.
Happy reading…

I think I read all of the series.
The stories are not too bad.. it’s like the urban legends in our high school days.. more to foolish fun rather than scary :p

i have read some singapore horror stories series too but i don’t think it is from damien sin. maybe got different authors but the same series name. they are all short horror stories, which like jee pointed out, not really scary stories but urban legends.
btw, i love reading short horror stories (but don’t quite like these singapore horror stories series) from those western authors like road dahl, ramsey campbell, alfred hitchcock.

Horror stories are great, especially at bed time. Hmmm, haven’t read one myself for years. Guess I’ll go buy myself a few later.
