Bumbu Bali Restaurant

Who say Puchong is a kampung and doesn’t have good dining place? Bumbu Bali is a Balinese restaurant located in a double-storey shoplot in Bandar Puteri, Puchong. Last week, my girls and I finally checked out this place after failing to dine there on so many occasions. We have to give it a thumb up! The moment you step into the restaurant, it gives you very deep feeling of Bali, as the wall, staircase, wooden tables and chairs are decorated Balinese-style. Although I am not sure if these decorations are fully imported from Bali or not, but I am pretty sure they are not cheap.

Diners enjoying their authentic Balinese cuisine.
There is a very good selection of authentic traditional and contemporary Bali paintings,
traditional wood and stone carvings for sell too.

Home decor items include figurines of animals such as ducks and chickens.

Wood carvings of Buddha or the Ramayanan, displayed on the walkway to the toilet.

Authentic stunning paintings.
Now, let’s move on to the food we ordered for the night.

Seafood Platter comes at RM24.50.
The Seafood platter was full of flavor. There were squid, prawns, fish meat, fries, veges, and a slice of fresh watermelon on the plate. The seafood tasted fabulous with and without the accompanying sauce. The sauce tasted of garlic and onion with black pepper.

Chicken and Chips.
This dish comes at RM16.50. The chicken looked appetizing too. My friend commented that she can feel the tenderness of the chicken. The sauce was the same with the sauce that came with the Seafood Platter. I still prefer McDonalds’ fries though.

Fish Pasta.
Fish Pasta costs RM16.50 also. My girl said this bowl of pasta was really delicious and filling. The fish was very tender and soft. Tasted awesome.

Closer look at the mouth watering seafood!
I am so hungry now…
Overall, this is a very nice place to hang out and have some fine Balinese food twisted with some local flavor. However, I need to remind you that the place is a bit warm since there is no air conditioning. Probably this is intentional to add to the Balinese feel.

The trick to take pictures in restaurants is to snap quickly when others are having their food
and don’t use flash, flash not only produce bad pictures, they might annoy other diners too.
sure, dinner’s on me..if i get there
wow..looks nice. the pic of the painting there, i gather that’s Buddha, i took the exact pic when i was in Bali last yr. didn’t really try out local cuisine when I was in Bali though..so will go to this restaurant to try =)
[...] Last Friday, we went to Bandar Puteri again for our dinner. Since we have tried the very well known Bumbu Bali Restaurant, we guess this time we should try something a little different, Kikyo Japanese Restaurant. Kikyo is located very near to Bumbu Bali, perhaps about 200 meters away only. [...]
[...] I am in love with Bumbu Bali – definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Bandar Puteri Puchong. Yesterday was my second time having my dinner there, last time was in April. Read my previous introduction to Bumbu Bali restaurant. [...]
Actually the upper floor is air-conditioning.
I went there twice, 1st with my colleagues for Friday night out, nice food and beer.
Last Sunday with my whole family there for lunch. Big portion
Hope my parent enjoy the food there.

[...] How do you compare Jombali to Bumbu Bali which is also a Balinese restaurant in Bandar Puteri. Jombali is like the baby of Bumbu Bali as the latter is much more established and occupies a much bigger premise, not to mention serves more varieties of authentic Balinese dishes. Their premise is heavily decorated with classy Balinese decorations which are an eye opener even to see them because you don’t get to see them else where. But prepare to spend twice of what you need to spend in Jombali, hahaha! I use AdSense to monetize this website. I highly recommend you to do the same. Permalink [...]
Love this place, highly recommended! Will definitely get back there again.
