Kikyo Japanese Restaurant

Since tomorrow (or today, since it just pass midnight) will be a public holiday, so I guess I can stay up a little late to post this baby. Tomorrow is Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday (Maulidur Rasul), a national public holiday for Malaysia - yeah, can sleep untill 11am, a luxury I don’t usually have
Last Friday, we went to Bandar Puteri again for our dinner. Since we have tried the very well known Bumbu Bali Restaurant, we guess this time we should try something a little different, Kikyo Japanese Restaurant. Kikyo is located very near to Bumbu Bali, perhaps about 200 meters away only.
Now, let me show you some photos to make your saliva dripping.

While waiting for food to be served, I tried the Love at First Bite
Nice chopstick cover.

The interior of Kikyo has a very warm and comfortable ambience. The area was lighted by something like decorated paper lanterns. There are various seating arrangements to accommodate different patrons - there are ones where you are required to take off your shoes.

Very nice bamboo decorations on the wall. This place is a bit quiet and relaxing, very much contrasting to the hot and happening environment you found at Bumbu Bali Restaurant.

Seafood set at RM28.00
The seafood was excellent, but I think it was quite pricy as half of the dish was actually made up of mixed vegetables. The seafood portion was pretty small.

Chicken set at RM24.00
This Chicken set was pretty good too. However, it also suffered the same drawback as the Seafood set where the chicken portion was too small. Luckily the Chawan Mushi that came with this set was very good. Full of ingredients inside
Yummy!

Kabocha Koroke at RM8 a plate
We ordered this side dish upon the waitress’ recommendation. She said this is made of pumpkin. The crust tasted crispy while the inside tasted soft and juicy. I would not specifically recommend this myself, but if you are a pumpkin lover, why not give it a try.

The outside look. A reminder is that this restaurant closes unusually early, 9:30pm already last call for the kichen…

Pretty expensive but it’s not the same style and not the same cuisine as the one I went in Kuching ;p of course not the same name hahaha… so cannot compare them but interior decor uses bamboo too.
