New Yonex Badminton Shoe
Apr 12th, 2006 by Neo
Our long stopped sports club is back! Since yesterday was a public holiday, we took the opportunity to play some badminton at Michael’s Badminton Academy (MBA), in Bandar Puteri, Puchong. Our game started at 4pm, it was quite hot in the afternoon although the badminton hall is very big.
Half way into our game, I nearly twisted my left foot as my shoe’s outsole rubber teared itself off. Haha, this pair of shoe has served me through many tough badminton games for the past 2 years. Although it looks a bit old, but overall it still serves me very well.

My old Yonex Badminton shoe. A Winning Touch.
Since I still want to continue my game, and out of safety concerns… I went to the small Badminton Store in front of the badminton academy, and shopped for a new pair of badminton shoe. They stocked quite a selection of badminton equipments, including shoes of course.

My new Yonex Badminton shoe. Ergoshape.
Hehe, that’s what I bought. This model is on promotion, usual price is about RM149 per pair, now the promotion slashed the price down to RM109.90. I paid RM110 and still got 10 cents of change back
This badminton shoe has got something called the Anti-Twist System
Check out some users’ review on badmintoncentral.com.

Anti-Twist System. How does this system work? How come I can’t really feel any difference…

Nice shoe…
wow, nice shoe!
very white and berkilat summore – lagi got twist system! canggih, shoes nowadays.
maybe the reason you’re not feeling the difference is cos ur playing technique is not quite ‘right’? heeheehehe
Jerry,
Yonex badminton shoe at this price is quite OK I guess.
EeLeen, Laksa,
Steph,
Waiting for you to show me the correct technique
nice shoes…show me the socks to go with it
Now the shoes is shining white
How about two weeks later on?
Can wear normal Nike/Reebok/Adidas sports shoes or not when playing badminton?
Wuching,
Stay tuned for the socks.
Chen,
Two weeks later, it will be shining like the old shoe.
Titoki,
Yes you can. But you won’t be able to move on the badminton court so easily/swiftly, and you maybe at risk of hurting your feet too. Because these shoes are not designed for the badminton court surface.
Wah ‘anti twist shoe’ ??
btw, I’m playing badminton today. wanna join ?
Che-Cheh,
Where are you playing? What time roughly?
At my office’s court. Don’t think you can come in. Sometimes I play in Matsushita, Shah Alam.
Che-Cheh,
That sound good, you can have free courts. Places where I play such as the MBA in Puchong, and badminton stadium in Subang charge RM15 – RM20 an hour for the court.
Yeah free courts BUT it’s open air court.
Matsu charge RM10 for an hour.
wah lau… new shoes… so expensive… any shoes more than RM60 I dare not to buy ;p
Wah!!So expensive Oo..
[...] Still remember that I bought a pair of new Yonex Badminton Shoe that costed my arm and my leg? And of course the old shoe which have served me very well for the past 2 years. [...]
[...] Yonex is the number one brand trusted by many badminton players and badminton lovers around the world. My badminton racket and shoes are all from Yonex. Perhaps you can still remember I showed you my anti twist Yonex badminton shoe which I bought just over a year ago. The shoe is good and solid overall, but unfortunately the outsole rubber is not. Somehow it started to tear up sometime ago, maybe because of too much abuse when I played badminton. [...]
