Mizi Shabu Shabu, best steamboat in Bandar Puteri Puchong
Apr 24th, 2006 by Neo
My ex-university mates came to Puchong last weekend to meet us, and they suggested to go to Bandar Puteri to try out a Japanese steamboat restaurant called Mizi Shabu Shabu for a sumptuous lunch. Upon arrival, we were surprised to see that the place was a bit quiet with only one other table occupied with patrons. But, it was 11:30am, on a Sunday morning when most people were still on their bed

Our leading cast for today - Mizi Shabu Shabu Steamboat Restaurant.
The air-conditioned restaurant is very neat and clean. Now, what’s so special about this restaurant? Well, each diner gets their own individual steamboat pot. This effectively means that you have your own pot, no one will fight with you for food! You can mix and make your own steamboat soup too, add in some chilli, some eggs, some vege and etc. Also, there is no charcoal, no gas tanks, they use electricity to heat up the pot and the soup in it.

The special steamboat table where there are openings/holes where you put the individual pots. Good eh?
What’s best is that you can adjust the heating level yourself, keep warm, hot or fast boiling. Better eh?

This is so convenient, no need to mess around with bulky gas tank and the gas hose. Sometimes gas smell too, yeik.
Food was served pretty fast too. Perhaps because there wasn’t a lot of patrons this early in the morning. These were what we ordered.

Couple set at RM25.00.
There were 4 of us and we all tried the couple set. We ordered 2 sets of those.

There you are, plenty of food. My friends couldn’t wait already… they started while I was still busy snapping
The soup boiled pretty fast. See, another benefit of using electricy. Perhaps because we were using one person’s amount of soup also speeded up the boiling.

Boiling soup.
We were given Mizi’s specially made steamboat sauce. This secret recipe sauce tasted excellent.

This sauce is heavenly tasty. Best eh?
Overall, this restaurant is recommendable especially if you are into steamboats. Their clean and neat environment is definitely a big plus, not to mention the innovative electric powered pot. Check out this picture which I took after our meal, at about 1pm.

The restaurant of the day!
Loads of people started to come for their lunch. I think if we were a little later than that, we may have to queue up already
Oh yeah, my friends foot the bill. Many thanks ya, buddies!

the button controls for heating is enough to convince me. anything that doesnt involve twisting and turning knobs is good. i hate the old school stoves. they look like they’ll explode. *scowls*

The restaurant is located in Bandar Puteri, Puchong. Opposite of Giant. Very near to Tesco, and IOI Mall.
Same area with the Bumbu Bali restaurant. Let me know if you need a map.

Che-Cheh,
The price of course depends on what you order. They have single sets which cost about RM15++ upwards.
The one we tried were Couple Set (for two persons), at RM25 a set.
If you like green tea, you can try their Hot Taiwan Green tea, with free unlimited refill!
is it Air conditioned?

[…] Can you believe this? Myself just cannot believe this to be true, I have visited this steamboat restaurant not too long ago, and found it to be very clean and neat and would like to recommend to my friends. How can this happen in such a clean and neat restaurant, which got my thumbs up recommendations? […]
The food is not delicious and has worm. So ugly.
Concept is good. But the choice of food is bad, as you can’t choose, mostly come with prawns, and i do not like it. They won’t change for me.
‘The service there sucks. The staffs are very unfriendly and rude, especially when u try to make a request.
WIll never go back there.
Hey,
There is a new restaurant in Kepong also serving shabu-shabu. Furthermore, they have sukiyaki in japanese style as well…
They have good quality beef and pork (for those who doesn’t like beef and sorry to those who don’t take pork), special prepared dipping sauce and furthermore, the price is reasonable. I just cannot resist to their salad and also the chicken chop with special sauce.
Must try !!!!! It is called yokotaya .. if i am not mistaken.
This restaurant is amazing! I went there about two weeks ago and the food there is absolutely amazing! However, the beef wasn’t fresh as I could see that it had already been in the fridge for at least a few days..but the rest of the food there is perfect! thumbs up!
