Have you submitted your Tax Returns? Today being 30 April 2006, is the last day to submit the dreaded B and BE Forms to our dear Inland Revenue Board (LHDN - Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri). According to reports in the papers, since a lot of Malaysians are like previous years wait until the last minute to submit the forms, hugh crowds are seen at the various LHDN branches. Why we do not learn from the previous experience and submit the forms earlier?

Myself have submitted the BE Form much earlier. It was such a pleasant visiting the LHDN branch at the Menara PGRM, Cheras. There wasn’t any big crowds nor long queues. Everything was done in less than 10 minutes

That’s the benefit of submitting your form early. There are not many people, so you get your thing done quickly and you have time to even take some photos. While I was there I registered for the e-Filling too, which is a means of submitting income tax returns form electronically via the Internet. I was given a sealed envelop which contains the PIN to access to the e-Filling website.

Hehe, Malaysians are going e-Filling too, just like other countries such as Australia. From what I read from the paper just now, there are mixed response from the public to this idea. Some are very supportive, while the others have less confidence. Anyway, so far roughly 246 thousands of tax payers have registered online on e-Filling.
