Wong Kok Char Chan Teng at IOI Mall
May 21st, 2006 by Neo
I love Puchong. There are so many eating places in Puchong now, too many that sometimes we had difficulty in deciding which one to go to. Anyway, this time since we were already at IOI Mall, we choose Wong Kok Char Chan Teng, a hongkie cuisine restaurant.
Dinner time at about 7:30pm was quite busy, as there were not many tables empty. This is surely a good sign for a restaurant.

I couldn’t help myself but to take a picture of the menu. So colorful and nicely designed.

Descriptive menu as it contains nice illustrations.
Look at the menu, everything looked really good, so it’s hard to decide which one to order. Anyway, I ordered Fish wrapped in Egg with Shanghai Style Vegetable Rice. As the name implies, it consists of Shanghai style vegetable rice, which is served with a slice of fish wrapped in the egg. My girl had Honey Peach Cheese Bread Pudding. This is supposedly an appertizer, but the portion is enough for a small eater like her.

Fish wrapped in Egg with Shanghai Style Vegetable Rice. RM8.90.

Honey Peach Cheese Bread Pudding. Notice the two peaches at the top? RM4.90.
The bread pudding tasted fabulous.

Red Bean Sago Sherbet (RM4.80), and Mango Honeydew Low (RM5.90).
As for the drinks, we had Red Bean Sago Sherbet, and Mango Honeydew Low. Both of these are really good and refreshing! I especially like the red bean sago, one big glass. Enough to quench your thirst.
I knew that they have branches in 1 Utama and SS2, Petaling Jaya. But their menu reveals that apparently they have many more branches, believe it or not, they have expanded to South City Plaza, Cheras Leisure Mall, Plaza OUG, Ampang Water Front, Taman Equine Jaya Jusco and Johor Bahru City Square. 9 establishments in Malaysia!

[...] Haha, I love to eat, can’t deny that. But I cook too, of course I can’t cook this and this. I can only cook this. But if you can find a girl who would like to cook nice nice for me, I don’t mind. Preferably as pretty as you lar [...]
The food there is rubbish compared to the ORIGINAL one in Penang man. What bad quality and rediculous spin off. I mean come on, if they can’t copy the original then dont open la. The one in Penang serves excellent egg tarts, not like the ones in KL which serves cold egg tarts and the food quality is below par. I first ate it in Perangin Mall when I was on holiday with my family a few years ago and when I saw it open in SS2, I thought it was the same one, but then I found ouy its just an imitation, what a scam man.
[...] Still remember I told you I dinned at Wong Kok Char Chan Teng at IOI Mall? Bet you can’t remember because even I can’t before I did the search. [...]
I like the Rice in Superior Soup with Minced Meat & Dried Oyster èšÂ干肉碎汤饠in Wong Kok. This is the best.
