Vietnam Kitchen at Cheras Leisure Mall
Jun 3rd, 2006 by Neo
It has been a good experience for me to try out some Vietnamese cuisine at the Vietnam Kitchen, Leisure Mall, Cheras. I have not stepped in Leisure Mall for perhaps a couple of years already and had a good surprise to see so many new shops in the newly extended wing. A lot of these shops are restaurants, you have Wong Kok Char Chan Teng, Secret Recipe and others. Looks like there is good reason for me to come here more often

Vietnam Kitchen @ Cheras Leisure Mall.
The restaurant occupies an open space in the shopping center that is decorated with pretty Vietnamese lamps and plenty of drum lights. The place is beautiful and cosy, but we felt it was a bit warm particularly since we ordered one of their hot plate!

The restaurant.
Hungry? Let’s look at the food to make you rush to Leisure Mall now

Half-moon-shaped menu. Nice.
Since I am new to Vietnamese food and not sure what to order, I went for my favorite food - chicken. So, this is the Lemongrass Chicken Chop with Rice and Egg. The chicken is very nice, tender and soft. Not sure how should we use the sauce in the middle of the plate, are we supposed to pour it on top of the chicken chop?
Although it’s delicious but I think the portion is a little small. But, maybe the price justified its size.

Lemongrass Chicken Chop with Rice and Egg at RM8.90
My girl had XO Fried Vermicelli. This plate is extra hot and spicy! If you like hot Vietnamese food, perhaps you can try this one… so hot that it will swell your tongue!

XO Fried Vermicelli at RM9.90
Our friend tried something more conventional, the Special Beef Rice Noodle Soup. According to her, the taste deserves two thumbs up. To me, it is a hugh bowl!

Special Beef Rice Noodle Soup at RM9.90
Our drinks. We had Avocado Milk Shake, and Mung & Red Bean with Coconut Milk. Both drinks are very nice and recommended.

Avocado Milk Shake at RM4.90, and Mung & Red Bean with Coconut Milk at RM4.50.
Fancy decoration at the side of the restaurant.
