Petronas Twin Towers Documentary on National Geographic Channel
Jun 12th, 2006 by Neo
At 450 meter tall, the Petronas Twin Towers are the tallest twin towers on Earth. But building them was a construction challenge like no other, especially in Malaysia where we had never built a mega skyscraper before.

Sky bridge between the two towers.
This excellent documentary on the building of Petronas Twin Towers was aired on the National Geographic Channel, Astro some time ago. But if you have missed it or would like to watch it again, you are in luck.
I found this clip on YouTube. Make sure you have some time to spare as the clip includes the full length of perhaps 45 minutes
Watch the documentary to see how unexpected problems threatened the project.
The towers were built in a torrential monsoon belt. The construction site wasn’t made of bedrock but unstable sediment, and the towers were not made of lightweight steel but reinforced concrete. The six-year endeavor turned out to be a high-risk showcase project with a hugely ambitious schedule.

ahha.. this is nice one!
die lah lidat!
Eh… ever feel the shakiness when you were there? I felt it twice, make me dizzy like mild earthquake. When I stood there, out of sudden I felt very dizzy, then stop. The I sat down at Coffe Bean, another dizzy spell again. It’s confirm that many ppl felt the shakiness but I guess it’s normal for a tall building.
Is this in the programme called Megastructure ?
Nice to view it. Thanks for your sharing.
