Astro Satellite TV Problem

My Astro satellite tv has not been behaving normally since last week, the pictures were broken up and pixellated, and the sound was intermittent. I blamed those strange behavior on the bad weather. Yeah, it must be the cloudy sky! But, that happened for the following few days, and I missed the live French Open, National Geographics, Discovery Channel, TVB dramas, and many more… Astro need to refund to me…
I checked the cables and the smart card on the decoder, everything looked fine and intact. Last resort, called Astro’s customer service center. They arranged for a technician to follow up in 3 to 5 working days! Damn, how come so long?! What should I do with Astro within these few waiting days?!
However, unexpectedly, the technician called me within 2 days and arranged to come to my place. He took less than 10 minutes to get the problem fixed. The culprit was the small device on the satellite dish - the Universal LNB.

This problem is so common with Astro’s satellite dishes that the technician replaced it straight away without even checking! 10 minutes of work came at a service charge of RM50. The stupid device costed RM100. Total damage was RM150!
However, I was glad that the problem is finally fixed and I could enjoy my favorite Astro again. But, before long I remembered that Sabrina Che-cheh Duncan was having the same problem, obviously she has opted for the replacement of the whole Astro decoder with a new model. That looks like a better idea since the new model’s response time is much faster. The interactive system for program/menu/guide/info and etc are instantaneous, whereas in the old model I will have to wait for a few seconds!
What to do? Wanna sponsor me RM199 for the new model?

Don’t know why. Someone told me it’s because of the remote control battery but I doubt it.

Oh, that’s bad news. Why don’t you change the batteries and see if the response time become faster?
In fact, I have called Astro and they agree to arrange to have my Astro replaced with the new model with additional RM49 (because earlier I have paid RM150 for the repair - replacing the Universal LNB).
By the way, when they replace with the new model, did they replace the satellite dish outside also?

What about the cable/wire that runs from the satellite dish to the decoder unit? Did Astro replace that as well?
