Silicon Wiper Blades

I was in KLCC the other day and was handed this Brighton Silicon Wiper brochure. In fact I came across the same or at least similar products – silicon wiper blades, a couple of times before, but I guess this time I am going to write about it, so that you may share your knowledge and experience with us.

So, what’s so good about silicon wipers?
A quick search on Google reveals that silicon wiper blades are made from high quality silicon that renders them virtually indestructible! These silicon wiper blades are highly resistant to bizarre weather and oxidation, extreme temperature from -30c up to 120c and to a variety of chemicals. They also have superior water resistance. Heat, rain, chemicals or even sub-zero temperatures do not affect these blades. As such, they are guaranteed not to crack, rot or stick to the windscreen of the vehicle for at least 5 years!
Not too sure about the price though, but I guess it will be in the hundreds of Ringgit per pair. Have you used one before? What’s your experience and do you recommend it?

I was approached by a silicon wiper salesman from another company today. He handed me the wiper’s brochure and when asked about the wiper’s price for Honda City, he replied that it will cost between RM110 and RM120. He also said that the one week long promotion ends today and the new price starting next week will be about RM150!
Anyway, I didn’t buy them as I was not too convinced about the quality of the wipers and non of my friends have tried them before…

Anyhow there are so many brands of silicon wiper in the market, cheap, middle price and expensive. It depends on the quality of the product, cost wise those expensive sure the company given more R&D on the product.
Anyhow the price varies on sizes….. but i can’t explain how good the wipers are but only those use it can feel the benefit of the wiper. The first brochure you post u can call up to ask where the manufacturer is and you can compare with the second company, then you know which is the real one…
