Hartz Chicken Buffet
Aug 23rd, 2006 by Neo
Sunday afternoon, hot, lazy and most importantly hungry. We were “brainstorming” what to have for lunch… and suddenly I had this craving for fried chicken. Since I was very hungry I thought it would be a good idea to head to Sunday Pyramid for the all you can eat Hartz Chicken Buffet. Hartz Chicken Buffet charges RM17.90 per adult. However, during happy hours which is on Monday through Friday, from 2pm to 4pm, you get to enjoy a 15% discount off the price.
Their main course on the buffet menu is of course chicken, but they have a wide range of other goodies as well such as salads, fruits, soft drinks, cakes, and ice cream with toppings. Let’s take a look at some pictures I took.

The outlet at Sunway Pyramid, LL2. I took this picture while we were leaving and the fella in front there stopped me from taking anymore pictures. Luckily I have already done taking all the pictures inside.

The tables at the dining area.
Do you think the tables and the chairs look a little cheap now (also the entire outlet)? I thought they have nicer furnitures and finishing in their old outlet at the old location in Sunway Pyramid - I was told they have relocated here. Any idea why they become cheaper after relocation?
My advise is to choose a table at the back instead of beside the salad bar. This is because there are more space at the back tables and the atmosphere is better.

The chickens counter.
There are many different types of chicken, namely fried chicken, hot and spicy chicken, BBQ roasted chicken, fried chicken liver, fried chicken gizzards, and hot wings. It is complemented by an assortment of side dishes such as onion rings, fish fingers, and potato chips. You need to be pretty quick in order to get hold of the chicken drumsticks and thighs!

Various cold salads, fresh vegetables, and an assortment of fruits can be found on the salad bar.

This is the hot food bar.
The hot food bar serves various local and western dishes. This consists of items such as Italian spaghetti, steam rice, curry chicken, mash potatoes, vegetables, fried pumpkins strips, soups, deep fried potatoes, sweet and sour toufu, and crispy potatoes.

Healthy food. One drumstick, one wing, don’t know what chicken and some vegetables.
That’s my plate. I had several rounds like this
Hahaha.
Now, after you have the chicken, the salads and the various local and western dishes, it’s time for the desserts.

Cakes. Don’t look very appealing to me.

Free flow drinks.
Here’s the drinks counter which has the standard offering of soft drinks: Coca Cola, 100plus, Pepsi, etc. However, I didn’t the Seasons Iced Lemon Tea. I thought last time they have it?
One of the recommended feature of Hartz Chicken Buffet is the soft serve ice cream machine with which you can make your own sundaes with the toppings provided on the side. However, the funny thing that afternoon was that their ice cream was too soft… According to the staff, we have not given the machine enough time to harden the ice cream! Like this also can? At the end, we used a straw to drink the ice cream much like a glass of Vanila Milkshake
Hartz Chicken Buffet definitely attracts big eaters who eat more than 3 or 4 pieces of chicken. You do some maths and will realise that the price works out to be more expensive at traditional fast food outlets such as KFC, and McDonald’s.
