Beard Papa’s Cream Puffs
Sep 18th, 2006 by Neo
Cely showed us the yummy Bread Papa’s fresh’n natural cream puffs on her blog. I remembered that I tried it some time ago but couldn’t recall how was the taste.
Last weekend, I managed to purchase a box of the puffs while I was window shopping in Mid Valley. It costs RM3.30 each, but if you purchased a box of 6, the price is only RM16.50.

There are two flavors, chocolate and vanilla. I personally prefer the vanilla flavor.

Two thumbs up for the cream puffs, the cream is not very heavy and sweet, and tastes just nice! They are best eaten immediately after you purchase them. If you plan to eat it later, then it’s advisable to keep them refrigerated.
Let’s have a look at the Mid Valley store which is filled with the aroma of freshly baked cream puffs.

Beard papa’s cream puffs consist of a two-layer shell. The inner shell is a choux pastry shell and the outer shell is a piecrust. It is this special-structured shell which makes bear papa’s cream puffs so unique.
It takes 2 hours to prepare our whipped cream custard. We make it 4-6 times a day with plenty of natural vanilla beans in it. We blend our custard and whipped creams right before our cream puffs are served.
You may discover tiny black grains in our custard cream. While tasteless, it is those black grains that create the special aroma. We pod vanilla beans and use them lavishly.
We use handpicked vanilla beans from Madagascar, known worldwide as the best place for natural-grown vanilla beans.
Crunchy puffs are filled with whipped cream custard every time an order is placed. We then sprinkle powder sugar over them and they are ready to be served!! Enjoy the combination of “crisp” and “creamy” bites that melt in your mouth.

Lots of creamy puffs!
I know your mouth is watering now… although it isn’t cheap at RM3.30 a piece, but if you can get a few friends to share a box, it’s much cheaper. Get it at Lower Ground floor, Mid Valley (Opposite KFC and Dunkin Donuts).
Cheers!

looks like santa claus!
it’s definitely expensive. Especially for something made from flour & artificial flavouring and with loads of unwanted carbs. Will definitely not share with my friends all those unsaturated fat.
The packaging looks interesting. are the cream puffs nice?
Hey I tried that before. Not too bad!
waaa so expensive per piece…. can eat other food liao… but really nice is it? maybe i will go try out if i go midvalley… hahahha
The cream puffs are very nice actually. I like the vanila flavor one.
Ahh I saw that shop in Mid Valley but didn’t try it. Maybe I will.
OMG Those are delicious. I wish they would open up a store here in Alor Star. I don’t even have a Dunkin’ Donuts here!
