Balakong Primary School Charity Dinner
Nov 20th, 2006 by Neo
I know that I have not updated much over the past week and the weekend but I was just too busy to get my butt on the chair so that I can post something. Anyway, I will try posting more this week.
Earlier last week I was pretty lucky to be able to attend a free dinner at a Chinese primary school in Balakong, Serdang. The evening event was a charity dinner where they were raising funds for the primary school’s education and building development. Since it’s a charity dinner, you will need to purchase tickets to be able to attend it and I was lucky enough because I got free tickets where my sponser sponsored a whole table for 10 persons! Hahaha

Lion dance.
There were lion dance welcoming the participants and sponsors. However, please do not expect too much of the lions because they were done by school children I guess.

Close to 1000 diners.
This dinner was pretty grand for the primary school, and even for the whole Balakong community because there were about 1500 diners (150 tables) participating. Of course the school’s multi-purpose hall is not big enough to accommodate them all, but since it’s charity, I believe you don’t mind to have your dinner on the basketball court outside… fear not, we have setup roof for that!

A couple hundreds of diners who enjoyed the evening breeze outside.
Luckily the evening’s weather was pretty good and those people get to enjoy the evening breeze outside.

Deputy Higher Education Minister, Datuk Ong Tee Kiat.
Deputy Higher Education Minister, Datuk Ong Tee Kiat was invited to officiate the event and he was happy enough to give a few words to those who care about our children’s Chinese education.

VIPs taking a photo for tomorrow’s newspaper
After some more speeaches by the VIPs, they stayed on the stage to have a few photos taken. Among them were Datuk Ong Tee Kiat, and Datuk Yap Pian Hon, the MP of Seri Kembangan.
Of course the night would not be complete without some nice performance from the school children themselves.

School children.
Look at these school children. They were so energetically dancing and jumping on the stage like there will be no tomorrow. Their make up was quite cute too!

Pretty moves.
Remember, they are the hopes of our future!

Hot dance.
The teachers and parents didn’t want to miss the opportunity and performed some hot dance too. The music and the dance were both great!
But none of the performances beat this Numa Numa dance done by some young children. They were simply awesome that I have to record them for your viewing pleasure!
It was a good evening, and I hope they organize more charity events like this and I get more free tickets! Haha…
