Preparing Food for 1500 People
Nov 22nd, 2006 by Neo
We are still at the Balakong Primary School Charity Dinner because there are so many things to see and so much to eat!
If you remembered that I told you the charity dinner had a whooping 1500 participants. Now, you may wonder how did they prepare the food for 1500 stomachs? Since this was a charity event, you don’t expect them to order from a large catering provider, or from a 5-star restaurant, right?

Lots of food… yummy!
Of course, they didn’t. Instead, they had volunteers preparing the food on the spot! Yes, right beside the multi-purpose hall, where we had the dinner and the performance stage.

Let me show you how to fry the chicken wings!
Picture above, check how many woks they were using there? If you guessed correctly, next time you sponsor a table for us okay!
Most of the volunteer cooks are still very young, most likely still schooling in secondary school. But, fear not, their master was there to give them guidance, and the good food that we enjoyed that evening was proof of their good cooking!

Food, food, and more food!
Some of the food were prepared in the canteen.
You may complain that the place they did the cooking was not very clean, but I guess whatever extra that got inside the food had added the extra flavor that made my taste buds gone yummy yummy!

Now, after the satisfying dinner, it’s time to check out the primary school itself. It seriously need some painting work I think… (the photo was taken prior to the dinner thus you can see the building).
