1 Utama Christmas Decoration

1 Utama is one of the top and biggest shopping center in Malaysia. Its gross built-up area totals 5 million square feet and receives roughly 60,000 to 90,000 visitors every weekday, and as many as 120,000 on weekends according to the management. 1 Utama is also named Shopping Complex of the Year at the Retail World Excellence Awards 2006/07.
Now, why do I tell you all these? Simply because I want to let you know how great is this shopping center. Competing malls in the same township which include Centrepoint, The Curve, Ikea and Cathay Cineleisure are all behind. With such a recognised and established shopping center, everyone would think that their Christmas decoration must be one of the best in town, but too sad, their decoration is a total let down!
Okay, that’s a hugh several stories tall Mickey mouse. Kudos to the team constructing that hugh Mickey mouse, but what does it has to do with Christmas?
Nice hugh Mickey mouse… I really do not know what to say except from err… a Mickey mouse 
Luckily, there are still some small Christmas trees and decorations placed beside this Disney character. Without these, one will thought 1Utama management has forgotten Christmas is coming to town!
Althought I was a little disappointed, this didn’t deter me from taking some nice evening shots on my way back. Check these pics out.
Just like stars on the sky… bright and cheerful! Took this picture while I was waiting for the cars in front of me to move. You know better than me, there is no way to take nice pics when the car is moving and without using a tripod (in the car).
So, that concludes our 1Utama prior-Christmas tour. Hope you enjoyed it… psss… I heard Mid Valley’s Christmas decoration is much better, so stay tuned, I might bring you to Mid Valley for a walk next!
