RM400K Automatic Toilet in Bukit Bintang
Dec 28th, 2006 by Neo
Let’s talk about toilet today!
Earlier last week, Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak launched a couple of advanced automatic public toilets in Bukit Bintang. The toilets which cost a whooping RM400,000 each, are made up of two sections; giving users the choice of using a squatting bowl or a sitting pan.
The cost to use this toilet is RM1, and you are allowed 15 minutes after which the door will automatically open! Haha, so make sure you have your pants on before then
Anyway, for RM1, you get to experience what you have never experience before, that’s worth it I guess. The smart toilet comes with an automatic seat cleaner capable of washing, scrubbing and drying the seat after every use. Not sure if it washes your ass too…
Below are some photos of the glorious launching ceremory.

I think this is the YB Menteri Wilayah Persekutuan. Hehe, he’s smiling at me, such an honor! Behind him are other menteris and dignitaries. You can see that this was such a grand occasion with so many VVIPs around.

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was kind enough to give a few words of encouragement. He called for an attitude change towards public toilet hygiene as it reflects our culture and civilisation.
“Even if we have the best-looking toilets around it would not mean a thing if bad attitude becomes the order of the day,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.

The toilet assistant become the star of the day. She has even got two assistants of her own!
Datuk Seri Najib and the other dignitaries officially launched the advanced smart toilets. Fireworks are fired implying the arrival of a new era. Malaysia Boleh!
The toilet has plenty of space inside. There is a section for diaper changing, seats for waiting and it’s also equiped with handicapped-friendly features. You do not need to panic if something weird happened to you while you are doing your business in there, because there is an emergency button handy… haha, the designer is so thoughtful!

The entrance to the RM400k toilet. Be extra careful with your steps, everything here even those you step on is ultra expensive ok.

This picture shows the basin and the mirror. Does it look any different from those you have at home?

Such a big and powerful aircon. Afraid your shit will freeze and have difficulty to complete your business within 15 minutes or not? Haha…

There you are, the hot babe of the day! The fully automated RM400k toilet.
Wanna give it a try? Go to Bukit Bintang today. It’s located in front of a McDonald’s outlet in Jalan Bukit Bintang. There are 10 more units which will be located in and near Wisma Denmark, Shahzan Tower, Conlay Square, Jalan Ampang, Medan Pasar, Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Tun H.S. Lee, Central Market, Sogo and Jalan Raja Laut.

Actually it doesn’t cost RM1. A couple of friends of mine tested the toilet. A maximum of 15 minutes, yes, but they only put in 20-30sen. And that lasted more than 5 minutes. They manually exited the toilet after.
Strange how it works. Perhaps it would be better if there was some indication of the rates, and also timespan.
That makes people more lazy. People should be thought to use toilet properly. This is such a waste of money.
Hmmm another waste money project. Why not use these money to help the needy?
I think it’s all part of the Visit Malaysia 2007 drive. And they are building a gigantic ferris wheel (like the London Eye). Aiyo.
can they not come up with something more to boast about then being a just copycat like a best public transport system to name 1.
I think to the Government, a record is a record. Whether it’s the tallest building in the world, the biggest roti canai or the fattest mooncake, don’t matter. It’s still a record. Something to be proud of. Malaysia Boleh (*bleerrrgh*). Yay.
Clean, hygienic public toilets are a given. No need to proclaim it. Besides, auto toilets have been around for yonks overseas. Tourists would be going, “Hey, look hunny, Malaysia finally has auto-toilets. My grandparents used to love them when they were kids!”
hhmm…again…another VERY good achievement of malaysia….rm400k toilet…we are really competing huh??? this is not what we want to achieve…when will the gov start to realize this…improve our economy…polish our sports team….we dun even bold enough to play international…rempit..drugs…fight this…show us the result…that is what we call achievement…so sad imagining me telling my overseas frens…oh…our vice president thought rm400k toilet will reflects our culture and civilisation….hhmm…poor me..
[…] Accompanying the check is a statement which doesn’t help in explaining what’s the check for. But who cares… I assume it’s for excess tax payments I made for the past so many years; no wonder Malaysia has so much public money to build great mega structures such as the close to half-a-million automatic toilet in Bukit Bintang and the Eye on Malaysia ferris wheel. Talking about the automatic toilets, are they still in good condition in Bukit Bintang? I haven’t tried them yet and would definitely want to do that personally some day! […]
This type of toilet is normal for European countries, I’ve been to Finland and it has these type of automatic toilet too, and it cost around 1euro about RM5 for us… I support the gov for this. It is good for the image of Malaysia for the tourist. Seems Bukit Bintang area are fulled with tourists, so tourists could see the hygienic part of Malaysian and not the 20 cents toilet that i also as a Malaysian ashamed of, with the low standard hygienic maintenance and all the drawings on the walls by the bad boys.
