Eye On Malaysia Ferris Wheel
Jan 8th, 2007 by Neo
It’s Visit Malaysia Year again, and this time the center of attraction is a hugh 60-meter-tall ferris wheel dubbed as the Eye on Malaysia. Some said this is the first of its kind structure in South-east Asia. How true is it, I am not so sure though.
Anyway, the ferris wheel, as well as the Visit Malaysia Year 2007 campaign were launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi last night. While this hugh wheel is still hot like a pan cake, my girls have been wishing to take a ride on it. So since this afternoon, the weather was pretty good, we set out to Taman Tasik Titiwangsa to check out the Eye on Malaysia!
Traffic was pretty bad as expected. It’s like looking for a parking space in 1Utama on a holiday eve, took us close to 30 minutes to find a parking spot at the roadside. A word of advice for you, you cannot park at any available space at the roadside because some security guard of some insanely hugh bungalows might chase you away because you are parking on their property!
Let’s forget about the insanely hugh bungalows first and check out some photos of Taman Tasik Titiwangsa’s magnificent view.

The view of the Titiwangsa Lake. The great Petronas Twin Tower and the KL Tower are also in view.

Ahhhh, that’s what we came all the way here for… a ride on the Eye on Malaysia for a breathtaking view of the capital… but look at the crowd lining up there… Maybe we should opt for plan B.

Another look at the ferris wheel located at the edge of the lake. Hope the foundation is strong enough to support the mega structure.

Okay, you still want to take a ride? I think will need to queue up for 1 hour or two judging from the enthusiasm of the hugh crowd. In the end we opted for plan B, which is to come back at a later date
Haha. The 12-minute ride is not free also… it will cost RM15 for adults and RM8 for children, so why waste the time? Better cabut and come back at another day!

Splendid view from across the lake.

How about a close-up shot?
To complete today’s story, let’s enjoy a short video of the ferris wheel. Remember, if you don’t want to queue up, come at a later date… now it’s like hot pan cake!

VMY 2007: The Eye on Malaysia
Actually, I had expected the ferris wheel to be larger. But then again, I wouldnÂ’t want the government to spend too much money on this alone either. Anyway, since it was widely publicized, we decided to pay The Eye on Malaysia a visit.
[...] 1. I am not sure about this but I think I may have some degree of acrophobia which is fear of the heights! Otherwise, why have I not ride Eye on Malaysia? [...]
Some of my friends who have sat it says it has a very beautiful view
I think it’s a good thing to have it in Malaysia!
Wandering whether it will be there for only this year or just temporary? The website only mention open to public til Dec 2007… Anybody has any idea?
It’s great that I will be going to pay a visit to “Eye” on Malaysia Ferris Wheel in coming Dec 07. Somehow, I saw the picture of the QUEUE is damn SCARY~ :giggle:.. The price of each person is reasonable as compare to Singapore Flyer’s ticket which is ALOT cheaper and heard that next year it will tear down if I’m not wrong.
