I am sure SugarBun is not a unfamiliar name for those who are from Sarawak, as SugarBun is a very popular fast food chain from Sarawak. In fact the chain started much earlier than McDonald’s and KFC in S’wak, so it gained much popularity among the young generations. Anyway, not sure which town it first started, but could be Sibu or Miri if I recalled correctly.

Do you know you can also try SugarBun, the famous fast food restaurant chain from Sarawak, if you are not in Sarawak? Yes, they have a branch in Metro Kajang! Haha, I was there a few days ago as I went to the KWSP (Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja, or EPF) office to settle some mundane matters. So, SugarBun I went!

Wait no more, let’s check out the food.

These are what myself and my girls ordered. Two chicken set meals and a chicken burger. The chicken set meals are served with savory rice and a small piece of fried chicken.

I know you are anxious to know if they are nice or not… one word, not nice. The chicken is not as nice as those from KFC, it’s too hard and doesn’t feel very fresh. The rice is cold while the burger is so below par compared to McDonald’s chicken burger! I think my road-side burger vendor can do better than this!

OMG, what happened to SugarBun? Last time I tried them, they were so much better than this!

Anyway, I noticed that they have a whole lot more of options in their offerings. Now they serve anything from coffee and waffle to nasi lemak and laksa! What is lacking is perhaps nasi goreng USA and pattaya! Haha… good to have more things on the menu, but at the same time have to make sure the quality of the food is improving. Right or not?
