Wisma Sanyan - the tallest building in Sarawak
Feb 25th, 2007 by Neo
By now I think most of my readers who are smart like yourself should heard of Wisma Sanyan - the tallest building in Sibu. Wait, in fact Wisma Sanyan, standing 28 floors, is the tallest building in the whole of Sarawak, not only Sibu!
Sibu which is easily the third biggest town in Sarawak, after Kuching and Miri is proud to host this modern skyscrapper. It houses the Sibu town council, several government departments, a few levels of shops, and some big tenants such as Giant hypermarket and Parkson departmental store.
Sounds great. Are you tempted to visit Sibu now? How about some pictures to get your adrenalin running to buy Airasia tickets right away?

Wah… so grand and tall! I can’t believe it, this looks so much taller than the Petronas Twin Towers! Hahaha…

The above picture was captured from the back of the building.

That’s the inside of the building showing the shops at the ground level. Although Sibu is a foochow town where everybody celebrated Chinese New Year together, but the decoration at Wisma Sanyan is moderate. There are only a few red lanterns hanging from the higher floors, a little disappointed.
Anyway, anyone visiting Wisma Sanyan have to admit that this place beats a lot of shopping malls found in Kuala Lumpur. Wisma Sanyan is a few times larger than a lot of shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur, and also the items available here are of wide variety and considerably cheap in pricing. Shopping malls in KL I refer here do not include One Utama and Mid Valley.
OK, I know I am not good in bluffing and you are not a bit tempted to come to Sibu. Doesn’t matter, stay tuned for more great posts brought to you direct from Sibu!

personally ive been to wisma sanyan and from my point of view, if u say that sanyan is bigger than shooping malls in KL bar Mid Valley and 1utama, ure making an overstatement..compare it to KLCC, sanyan is juz 1/10 of KLCC. it not even half as big as BB plaza or Sungei Wang Plaza. i would likened it SOGO. but for sarawak standard, yes it’s one of the biggest around, and still stands as the tallest building as well. my view of a shopping mall is not the size of the building but what u can get from the shop and how often do new arrivals comes.fyi, i’m from Kuching.tis juz my comments
Please send me your building management contact number, thank you. My contact 0138297333.
Err does anyone notice if there are any advertisement boards in the mall?
any advertisements that stand out and at which area?
