Korean Restaurant at Wisma Sanyan
Mar 2nd, 2007 by Neo
What do you usually do during Chinese New Year holidays other than counting red packet (ang pow) money? Of course having lots of nice food. The other day, my brothers and in laws were so nice that they brought us to have lunch at this Korean restaurant at Wisma Sanyan. I have never been to this restaurant before, so it’s time for me to take tonnes of pictures again.

The red balloons, lanterns and ribbons made the atmosphere very festive mood. The name of this restaurant may sound weird to a lot of people: Manna Cafe – Gallery.

Oh, that’s pretty interesting. This cafe is both a dining establishment as well as a gallery, there are racks displaying all sorts of goodies which you can purchase. But isn’t it a little weird to sell cloth hangers here? Did you notice that on the rack?
What’s special about this restaurant is that it overlooks the Sibu town… although not the whole town, but you can surely enjoy the magnificent view it offers. Let me show you a couple of pictures I took.

At the far end is the Rajang Port Authority building.

This picture shows the Sibu Town Square (Dataran Sibu) which the old Sibu sports stadium was located. The square is pretty big, I think it covers at least 30 acres if not more!
Ok, too much talking, let’s cut short and have some nice food instead. This time I won’t waste your time by going into the details, I think I will just show some photos and let them do the talking themselves.

One thing this place needs to improve badly is to server a little quicker… We waited for close to an hour before our food was served. Perhaps that was due to the new year peak hours?

ate there before, but it’s hardly Korean food though…
It hardly looks like Korean food I agree. However, I really like the way you blog. It’s really cool. What camera do you use to take these great pictures?
Arthur
dont look like Korean food lei…..
mana “kimchi” korean food without “kimchi”????
Folks,
Yes, I agree those are hardly Korean food. Actually from the menu, there aren’t a lot of Korean dishes to choose from, so we just ordered some local dishes, such as the curry chicken and fried kwei teow.
Arthur,
Those pictures were taken using Sony CyberShot DSC-P10. Very old camera, but still very reliable and in good condition. Not too bad for taking simple pictures such as those above.
that restaurant looks incredibly similar to the restaurant i met sixthseal before at sanyan! maybe it is the same place but they changed name?
That aint a korean cuisine..
They sell almost everything.. from chinese, malay, western and to korean you mentioned.
