I am a happy man today! You can see me smiling all the morning, not because Paypal has restored my account (that was yesterday), not because today’s weather is awesome, not because the young girl next door greeted me this morning, but because I have make RM323 out of no where! Yes, you read me all right… out of no where LHDN (Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri, Inland Revenue Board) sent me a check of RM323! How surprised I am, they automatically refund to me! I didn’t recall I have made any claims to refund me any excess payments in the last 2 years… maybe I did make one 10 years ago? I am that old meh? *clueless*

Accompanying the check is a statement which doesn’t help in explaining what’s the check for. But who cares… I assume it’s for excess tax payments I made for the past so many years; no wonder Malaysia has so much public money to build great mega structures such as the close to half-a-million automatic toilet in Bukit Bintang and the Eye on Malaysia ferris wheel. Talking about the automatic toilets, are they still in good condition in Bukit Bintang? I haven’t tried them yet and would definitely want to do that personally some day!

By the way, have you submitted your income tax forms? I believe the due date to do so will be end of this month! Don’t wait until last minute, do it now. Otherwise you will be suffering in long queues which are a common scene every year at LHDN.

Now let me share a secret with you, don’t tell other people. You can submit your income tax (Borang BE) online. Yes, LHDN has gone high tech now… Submitting income tax online is so much easier as you can do it anytime at your convenience without the hassle of going to their office and waiting in long queues! Anyway, using this method has its share of slight problem too, the initial setup takes a bit of patience as the system needs to download some extensions and install them on your computer; not to mention the frustration in getting the password correct!
