Coconut Flower Seafood Restaurant in Teluk Gong
May 25th, 2007 by Neo
Guess where is the best place for seafood in Selangor? If you ask me that, I have to say it’s the Coconut Flower Seafood Restaurant in Klang, or more precisely in Teluk Gong. Teluk Gong is very famous to many KL people and doesn’t need any further introduction. However, if you have no clue where is it, you simply have to take the Kesas highway route to Port Klang. Before long you will see signboards leading to Teluk Gong, follow them. You will see many seafood restaurants along the way before reaching at the Coconut Flower Seafood Restaurant.

I have never tried the other restaurants so I am not sure if they are good or not but the Coconut Flower Restaurant is generally regarded as the best. So many times I went to Teluk Gong, I have always found myself ending in Coconut Flower, perhaps next time I should try one of the others.

Coconut Flower is not a fancy restaurant with modern furnishings. The tables and chairs are plastic, housed in a coupld of wooden buildings. The place is really big, I roughly estimate it can easily accommodate 500 people and it’s almost always full. Come early preferably before 7pm if you don’t want to wait more than 30 minutes for your order.

We arrived early as planned, so our orders were served pretty quickly. But before that everybody were busy chatting, talk about work and chicks, talk about lubangs to make money online, talk about the latest movie Pirates of the Caribbean 3… talk just about anything under the sun!

And of course some jokers were busy trying out their brand new latest model cameras! I so envy them, they have got the latest cameras, while I am still using my 5-year-old Sony DSC P10. Anyway, mine has reliably searved me for 5 years!

Let me see the chick you captured… wow, that’s nice… so big and bouncy! Wahahaha…

At the other side of the tables, some pleasant chatting were going on. Long-no-see friends got to catch up with each other… exchange tips on getting girls, etc…
Of course we didn’t come all the way from KL for nothing, we came for the great seafood this place has to offer! Come, show me some great seafood!

This’s not seafood… this is herbal chicken! Who ordered this? OMG, order seafood which this reataurant is famous for lar…

OK, indeed some seafood dishes were served shortly after that. We had steam fish, mantis prawns which were totally de-shelled and fried with hot chilli, vegetable (not sure what it’s called in English), a big plate of Hookien noodles (which a member claimed nice?) and of course the infamous Toddy. But before I realize it, all the nice food were swept clean and ended up in our stomach. So, no pictures for this time. Haha…

What else better to do than to get drunk after all the food were swept clean?! Cheers… let’s finish the toddy as well. For the uninformed, Toddy is a type of liquor made from coconut extracts.
That’s all folks! It’s getting late, so I better get some sleep. Remember to wake me up at 8am.

[...] Did I tell you about the Coconut Flower Seafood Restaurant in Teluk Gong? Oh yes, I did, but I neglected to tell you about the group of ICE (in-car entertainment) enthusiast who gathered at the restaurant for a mini exhibition. We actually didn’t notice them at first but curiosity got the better of us when we heard loud music coming from the front of the restaurant, and we decided to check the source! [...]
