50 Baht per hour Services in Phuket
Jul 2nd, 2007 by Neo
You won’t have any problem to go online and do your blogging if you were in Phuket. There are plenty of Internet cafes for you to hook on to the Internet, and the charges is not too expensive, usually at 50 baht per hour, or 1 baht per minute (if you used less than 30 minutes or something like that). 50 baht is equivalent to RM5. In Malaysia I think the charges is usually RM2 per hour?… anyway RM5 an hour in Phuket is still OK if you just wanted to check some emails, and do a blog post which should take about an hour.

Some Internet cafes who operate late charge 60 baht per hour. You don’t have a choice and have to use them after the cheaper cafes close usually after midnight. This post Andaman Beach Suites Condominium which I did at 2am costed me RM10 something because I did it in a 60 baht cafe for I was late after some sex hunting.

Their so called ADSL line is as fast as our Streamyx! Haha…
Anyway, they do use Windows XP but don’t expect to find Adobe Photoshop installed. So, I had to find another alternative graphics program to do my photo editing… After some searching, finally I found ACDSee which is in fact a photo manager with some minimal photo editing features. Anyway, the basic features got my job done. But when I wanted to upload the edited photos only I found they do not have any FTP client software. In the end, I had to use the conventional DOS FTP commands! I guess they do not expect a blogger to use their computers!
I was hoping they had massage services in the cafe… you know, while you do your Internet surfing and blogging, some hot chick could massage your back, your legs, and some other parts. *wink* *wink*. But no luck. Haha

50 or 60 baht is cheap. I was charged 500 baht for a wireless access card good for 3 or 4hours (can’t remember) by Le Meridien when I was there last April.
