Thailand temple tour
Jul 5th, 2007 by Neo
They say if you haven’t been to a temple in Thailand, you haven’t visited Thailand! I was so worried my friends will say that to me when I come back, so I urged my tour guide (more about this friendly guide) to bring us to a temple, or wat as locally known. In fact he brought us to the largest temple in Phuket. Let’s check out some pictures.

Too bad, I forgot what is the name of this temple. See the Thai name?… Can you read it? I know you can’t, now, let’s come inside…

Wah, so high! You fell high or not looking at this high temple?!

Look at the nice architecture and design. So gold and red. Are they made of real gold?

OK, enough of the outside. How about we go inside and see if we can find something more interesting?

Wow, what a magnificent hall. There are so many Buddha statues in different positions.

I don’t know if it’s a disrespect to take pictures like this, but I saw other tourists took pictures, so I didn’t want to miss out and did the same. Hope it’s OK.

Just now, I showed you how high is the temple… or should we call it a pagoda? It consists of 4 or 5 levels actually and once you reach the top, you are rewarded with a very nice view of half the town of Phuket. Haha, not really eh… but doesn’t matter, I will show you more in a future post where I went up a hill for some awesome sunset photos.
There are a few smaller temples/architectures surrounding the main one but are equally impressive. Let me show you a few pictures.

Elephants are everywhere in Thailand.

They hold a revered place in Thailand’s society, because of their symbolic importance to monarchs, religion, and the nation as a whole. I wonder if these elephant statues are for people to worship?
With that, we conclude today’s Thailand temple tour. Hope you are happy and satisfied with the above pictures. Bye!
