Thailand monkey show

In Phuket and other tourist destinations in Thailand such as Pattaya, monkeys are undoubtedly qualify as men’s best friends. This isn’t surprising, since for centuries the people here have used monkeys to do the hardest part of the work climbing the trees to pick what else but coconuts.
After the adventurous jungle trekking on elephants, we decided to go see-see some naughty monkeys display their dexterity at picking coconuts and performing some other nifty tricks. The show costed us 300 baht per person, and lasted about 30 minutes. Expensive or not you be the judge after you have read the rest of this post.

That’s how the lead monkey greeted us, under the careful guidance of his master, “Sawadeekap!”

This monkey may seem very obedient and like a good boy, but he’s in fact very naughty. On a couple of occasions he disobeyed his master’s instruction and got caned on the head. Pity him also huh,… got chained like that while doing the show. You also won’t feel at ease with a chain/rope around your neck, right?
Let’s see what nifty tricks he can do.

This’s what monkeys here can do best, plucking coconuts. They can pluck a coconut within a few seconds only.

Wow, looks like he can play much better basketball than myself. Very smart eh?

Don’t tell me you don’t know how to ride a bike. See this skillful monkey riding the bicycle!

This monkey can act too. This time he’s a peddler who sells Tiger Balm like ointment. It costs 10 baht each, and guess what this monkey knows how to calculate. If you gave him 20 baht, he will give you 2 bottles of ointment, but if you gave him 30 baht you will get the same number of bottles because he doesn’t give change! Haha, smart monkey, just like a Chinese businessman!

In case you thought the monkey was taking a dive after the show you are totally wrong. He was diving to recover my friend’s watch which was thrown into the pool as part of the show. Don’t worry, the watch is water proof.

OMG, the monkey is heading my way, what should I do?… *trembling with fear*
Playing basketball with the audience.
Monkey also know how to exercise!
