Rabbit Park, Bukit Tinggi
Jul 30th, 2007 by Neo
You may not believe it, but today I just went to the famous Rabbit Park which lies some 2,500 feet above sea level up a hill called Bukit Tinggi in Bentong, Pahang. What Rabbit Park? Are there many rabbits there? Yes, there are lots of rabbits there! Haha… it may sound a little strange a grown up adult like myself would want to see some cute rabbits. But, no joke, that’s exactly what I did today.
The Rabbit Park is one of the attractions in Bukit Tinggi, which is about an hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur city centre. If you are thinking of going there for a vacation, do take the Karak Expressway, it’s as simple as drive straight all the way.
Let’s cut the crap and meet the rabbits.

There. Not one, not two, but three little cute rabbits. They like to cuddle and stay in the shade, or lean to the side of a rock.

More rabbits at a corner of the park. These two looked a little scared when I approached them to take a snap. My look was so bad that even rabbits were afraid of me.

A family was happily feeding a carrot to a couple of rabbits. The children were obviously delighted seeing the rabbits chewing away the carrot. The rabbits are cute and their furs is soft. If you don’t believe me, you can ask our big rabbit, I am sure she will tell you more just make sure you bring her lots of carrots!

Look how this dude shows his younger brother how to hold a rabbit without frightening it. “You hold its ass like this… yes, wrap your palm around it, no need afraid it will fart or shit… OK, good, now hold it steadily, don’t frighten it.”
Apart from the rabbits, you can find a small deer sanctuary just beside the rabbits park. There are not too many of them here, but it’s good to watch them from a very close distance. In fact you can stroke them if you want to.

If you are a little more adventurous, you might want to take a horse ride here… but have to pay RM6 for that. Not that expensive, you want to take up the challenge and ride like a cowboy?… wait… read that sign board again, and look at the animals again, don’t tell me you can’t differentiate a donkey from a horse!

I think that’s not a horse ride, it’s in fact a donkey ride! For a 120meter ride on a donkey, that’s kind of expensive now. Haha…

Let’s just give them a stroke or two. Poor donkeys.
Outside, in front of the park, we were surprised to see a row of big motorcycles. Some of them such as the Harley Davidson motorcycles could worth more than a car. It’s such a nice picture and I decided to take a shot to show you.

These are owned by the big ride lovers who always zoom pass you on their motorcycles on the highways. I am sure brothers who travel on the North South Expressway especially, experienced this before. They are so fast that you thought Superman had fly past you to go to Penang on a rescue mission!
Oh, before I forgot, the entrance ticket to the rabbit park costs RM3 per adult. It’s quite a fun and satisfying visit. After that we went to the famous Japanese Village, and then after to the Colmar Tropicale aka the French Village, which I will tell you more in a future time. Stay tuned!

So, it’s time to say goodbye to your new rabbit friends, and hop on the limousine which is waiting at the half hill and it will ferry us to the top of the hill where the Japanese Garden is located. If you were adventurous enough, you can drive up in your own car, just make sure you press hard enough on the speed pedal and don’t sweat! Haha… it’s pretty steep although not too far up. [...]
