The Royal London Circus opens in Puchong Utama!
Aug 12th, 2007 by Neo
Guess what, one of the most happening place in the Klang Valley this month is no longer Bukit Bintang or Mutiara Damansara, but Puchong Utama, exactly the place where The Royal London Circus has setup a hugh tent to bring you unlimited circus excitement. For the past week when the circus first started, my friends have been asking me about the show. We haven’t been to a circus for years… the last time I visited one was perhaps 20 years ago when I was still a small toddler, the picture was very faint. Couldn’t really recall.
Last Friday night, we finally dropped by Puchong Utama. Wow, to our surprise the place was really jam packed. Usually you can find a parking space very easily as after night fall the place is usually patronized by diners only. But today it’s packed by circus goers! Good, this indicates that the show’s really worth the money you pay!
It was about 9:00pm when we were inside the big tent. The atmosphere was really good. Spectators keep pouring in but in an orderly manner. Soon the ringmaster announced the start of the show, the band started the music and the whole circus came to live…

Look at that brother who blindfolded himself. He was like 10 meters in the air… everybody was so engaged in his acts that the whole tent was so quite until you can hear your own heart pumping hard. He jumped and jumped while the big wheel he was standing on was moving…

Let’s check out a few more pictures I took.
This duo brought us a few very sweet songs. You see them most of the time when the ring needed some attention and when the workers needed to do some setup for the next performance. Clever idea to get you entertained when the work was being carried out at the back.

This was another great act performed by some tough looking stunt men. In fact I think they looked like me - Neo from the Matrix!

Clowns! No circus is complete without them. They brought a lot of laughter to the audiences. Their job is to make you relax before the next daredevil show!

Spiderman show! The spinderwoman was trapped in this hugh spiderweb, the moment she got away she climbed 10 meters towards the highest point of the tent to rejoin the spiderman.

Breathtaking, I breathed slowly as I was afraid if I breathed too heavily the noise might scare them and they might drop to death. So dangerous.

Finally we saw an elephant. The elephant followed each and every orders from his master. One of the cool trick he performed was blowing a nice lullaby using a flute. Smart elephant.

The aerial acts such as the above trapeze and cradle were something the audiences were looking forward to watch. Anyway, it’s a little disappointing to see that a young performer couldn’t complete a very difficult act albeit trying a couple of times. He or his team basically mis-timed slightly… but that was enough to cause the damage. Luckily there was safety net below.
OK, time to take a rest. Go get some snacks outside, it will be heavenly to watch the show while having popcorn! Stay tuned for more pictures in a later post.
Still undecided want to go watch the circus or not? Don’t wait, it’s definitely worth going. In the meantime, enjoy the following videos.

[...] It’s disappointing to learn that The Royal London Circus has to end their shows in Puchong Utama much earlier than originally planned. But what’s more disappointing is their failure to officially announce this information to the public and especially to those who have already bought their tickets before hand. Some come with the whole family from places far far away only to see the circus tent being disassembled. Imagine the frustration and disappointment. [...]
Hi… thanks for watching our show. Sorry we had to cut our stay short… those who think that the ringmaster (that’s me) and the singing princess were not singing live, that’s not true. WE ALWAYS SING LIVE. If you want you can invite us any time to sing for you (we’ll ask the RLC management first but I’m sure they’ll oblige). Anyway we are now in Bandar Botanic Klang until Nov 25. It’s only a few minutes away…
