Nintendo Wii drops to RM999 only

I have been eying on this latest gaming console from Nintendo for so long already… ever since I first laid my eyes on a review I saw on the Internet years ago. The video which showed the console was so nicely done that I fell in love with it immediately. Yes, the waiting for Nintendo Wii is like so many years already.
Nintendo Wii and Resident Evil
Sunday afternoon I dropped by Giant Bandar Kinrara, which is a brand new shopping center just opened a few days ago. It’s easily accessible from the Sungai Besi Puchong bypass. If you were traveling from Puchong towards the Bukit Jalil direction, you should take the flyover to Bandar Kinrara 5 and before long you will see lots of Giant signboards to guide you. It was a shocking experience to see so many cars parked in a piece of muddy and rocky land at the back of the shopping center. Why on earth were there so many shoppers? Cars were everywhere… people were pushing trollies loaded with stuff… it seemed like Giant was having a big giveaways or something…!
Today, I am not going to talk about Giant anymore, instead let me show you this cool Nintendo Wii which I tried in Titanium Games in Giant Bandar Kinrara. Titanium Games is located at the ground level, you can easily see it from the covered car park. But the weird thing is that this shop is not accessible from within the shopping center, you need to get to the covered car park in order to go to this shop.
I had a great time checking out their Wii demo unit. I tried many games, among others were the sports games as I like sports like how I love my balls. I played tennis, golf and even bowling. I love the way games are played on Wii. Playing a game of golf is like playing the real game on a real green with a real golf club. The only shortcoming is we don’t have Michelle Wee to carry my golf equipments for me. LOL! Another game I tried was Resident Evil, a 3D first person shoot them up game.
Basically, Titanium Games has two standard packages for Nintendo Wii. The Japanese version costs RM999, and the US version costs RM1699. Wow, so much price difference between the two that you can buy a PSP (Playstation portable) with the savings if you went for the Japanese version!

So, what’s the disadvantages of the Japanese version? Well, the interface is all in Japanese language, so if you have a Japanese girl friend then you may not mind at all. Too bad none of my girlfriends are Japanese so you can understand the frustration trying to guess what the buttons mean. Also, the salesgirl was very honest. She told me some games especially those meant to be distributed in the US market may not work on the Japanese variant of the console. 2 out of 10 games with the label NTSC may not work on the machine. Those games with the JAP labels are fine… I browsed through their Wii games and realized that 80% of the games are labeled NTSC… so that effectively mean quite a lot of games will not be playable if you are not willing to pay for the US version.
Anyway, since we were there already, let’s check out what other goodies they have.

Nintendo DS Lite. I didn’t ask her how much this one costs… but perhaps we can get a good bargain if we bought both Wii and DS Lite? Ask her for 10 more Wii games, how does that sound? Haha.
What you don’t want to miss out is of course Sony Playstation 3! The console looks so cool and futuristic, it’s the console for the real hard core gamer!

I didn’t check the pricing for PS3 because I know it’s beyond my reach. But I guess PS3 in Malaysia costs close to RM3K.

You should get all 3 major gaming consoles, PS3, Wii and XBox 360 so that you can really compare them, and give unbiased opinions.

Hi guys, I have been to Tesco Extra’s Titanium Games in Taman Midah. I asked the price for PS3. The seller told me it cost RM1899. The package includes 1 original controller and an original game. Hope this info helps.
Titanium Games has open another outlet at Tesco Extra Shah Alam…. the concept is really cool.

Hi, yesterday i went to Titanium Games which is located at Puchong Bandar Kinrara. I found out that they hav the new model of PSP-2006 (SLIM). Beside, i also found out that XBOX Elite also avaible in Titanium Games.The price can b said is reasonable compare with other playstation shop.Wait for my salary…..n then i ll get 1 PSP from there!!!!!
I had been to their outlet at Sunway Pyramid on Monday, at the first Floor Asian Avenue. Was not totally fully open yet. But their concept is really cool. The sales person told me that they will open another branch at Tesco Extra Selayang on 7th November 2007.
I think they have more than 5 outlets already… found new accessories for PSP too…
