Jack and Danielle’s wedding dinner at Concord Hotel
Sep 17th, 2007 by Neo
I told you I was in Ipoh last weekend for a friend’s wedding dinner. But the wedding dinner I am going to show you now is not from Ipoh, this was another one at Concord Hotel, situated somewhere near Bukit Bintang. As I was not very familiar with this area I went with a friend… who unfortunately was not too sure of the location as well. We ended up calling a KL friend of mine to give us directions and we reached early. It was too easy to miss as you just need to go straight passing by a few traffic lights on that road in front of Sungai Wang. What road I forgot already.
Since we were early, we had a lot of camwhoring opportunities.

The chicks at the reception counter were beautiful. See how close I sticked my heads towards them… they were not only beautiful but smelled good too! Hahaha… I was busy checking my name on the name list, OK?

Beautiful wedding album. A lot of poses, varieties of costumes and many different backgrounds.
Not surprisingly the wedding dinner did not start until one hour later than the scheduled time. This is a very common practice in KL, so even though I wasn’t mad at waiting because I got to take a lot of pictures, chat with the beautiful bridegroom and mingle with my friends… but my stomach was not too kind. It kept asking when was it gonna start. Haha.
Anyway, luckily food was served soon after the new couples were seated, but not before the cake cutting ceremony.

Wow, what a samurai sword! Perhaps it was necessary for the cake was 7 levels tall!

Darling, don’t look at the handsome photographer. Please keep an eye on the wine… you are spilling it. Hahaha… laughers and applauses were heard from the floor.
Okay, after the toasting and a simple speech from the couples, the food were finally served. Nothing much to talk about the food as they were quite common and just like what you would expect when you attend wedding dinners. I was also too hungry and didn’t snap any pictures of the food. One special dish that needs mentioning was the crab’s soup instead of the usual shark fins soup. Surprisingly this crab’s soup tasted marvelous and in fact in my opinion it’s even better than shark fins. This is a good move to preserve sharks from extinction too.
Let’s fast forward a bit. Towards the end of the night, the bridegroom finally had time to come to our table for yumshen.

Yumsheng! Bottoms up! That marked the end of a joyous night at a 5-star hotel. Congratulations, Jack and Danielle!

Punctuality is always an issue not only in KL, but throughout Asia, don’t you agree?
Hahaha… you all are very creative to name their upcoming baby as Jack Daniels. Anyway, I will suggest this cute name to them. I am sure they will love it. lol.
Jason,
Obviously the tall cake was fake, only the bottom half was real perhaps.
Wuching,
No bluffing wan!
Che-Cheh,
These days they come up with all sorts of funny things trying to be different from others.
Jam,
True, but dinners in smaller towns tend to be more punctual.
