Hartz Chicken Buffet revisited
Oct 12th, 2007 by Neo
By now you should know that a couple of new shopping complexes have extended their territories to meet the ever growing demands of shoppers. Among them are Mid Valley Megamall and Sunway Pyramid, not to mention the new one called Pavillion at Jalan Bukit Bintang. I was in Sunway Pyramid yesterday to check out their new wing. Not too bad, looks absolutely classy, although only a handful of the tenants have opened their stores.

Anyway, as I was wondering aimlessly in the pyramid, the strong aroma of fried chicken caught my attention. My head stand strong immediately. Before I knew, I was already in the Hartz Chicken Buffet premise enjoying their fried chicken! I don’t know how many times I had been here… but their fried chicken tasted nice although KFC’s still the best!

That was my first plate. Start slowly… a piece of fried chicken and another piece of BBQ chicken, accompanied with some potato chips. Satisfying, but of course not enough, so got my self a 2nd plate.

There you are. This time I had a couple of sweet & sour chicken and three hot chicken wings. Yummylicious, but my tummy asked for more! No problem at all, this was a buffet, remember?

Hartz Chicken Buffet not only serves chicken buffet, they have self service salad, fruits, cookies, cakes, vegetables, ice cream and of course drinks. However, don’t take a large cup of their ice cream because it tastes horrible. There is only one flavor which is vanilla but it tastes nothing remotely like what you get from McDonalds.

The restaurant was quiet definitely because it is still Ramadhan month and the muslims are fasting. However, some people were definitely having a great time, even asked the waitress to take a photo for them.
I noticed a few tables were reserved, most probably by those who fast so that when it’s time to break fast they can eat all they want to replenish what they had missed out for the day! Don’t know Hartz will make a loss or not!
Just when you think I am done, I had yet another plate. This time I got two big drumsticks!

You can’t go wrong with some green vegetables too. Don’t tell me the drumsticks don’t look tempting to you.
After this plate, I was feeling very full already, but I just wanted to make my money worth so I went for just another plate. This time how about some spaghetti and fruits?

Delicious… you can actually add whatever ingredients you want and mix them to taste. Get them from the salad counter. Now, I was basically full to the throat! Hahaha… no more room for air… help help!
So, did I eat the bones as well? Obviously no… see below.

I won’t touch a chicken for a month. ![]()

looks yummy
I went there before and one suggestion for them is to provide Wifi and many plugs there.
I can stay there whole day.
Wow you’re a big eater.
Wow that made me salivate… I’m so going to try them @ pyramid!!
the one in Bintulu(recently opened) is bad, real bad…
Clement,
Indeed yummy!
Wayne,
Even without wifi you can stay there for the whole day. Bring your own spare batteries and use wireless broadband such as Maxis Broadband or iZZi.
Che-Cheh,
Am I a big eater?
Narrowband,
Go try if you like chicken! Make sure you eat as much as what I ate.
Matthew,
I would like to hear more about the one in Bintulu. Please share with us the story.
There is one in Kch and one in MYR, but not in SBW. Damn it!
Miri is MYR meh? Or MYR is Malaysian Ringgit?
There is one at The Summit. Any comments? The food has improved a lot since its opening last year.
