Malaysia Independence Tennis - Clash of the Times, Roger Federer vs Pete Sampras
Oct 17th, 2007 by Neo
As part of Malaysia’s 50th Independence (Merdeka) celebration, current world number 1 ranked tennis player Roger Federer will play against former world number 1, predecessor Pete Sampras. Both men are the greatest legends of tennis. Thanks to our 50th independence, now tennis fans in Malaysia get to watch them play in front of us in our homeland! Once in a life time which is of course not to be missed although the tickets costed a bomb!
I booked my tickets from ticketpro.com.my as early as the tickets were available for booking. A few days ago, they were finally delivered to my doorstep. Yooohooo… I am elated.

I am not really a hugh fan of Roger Federer, but I like watching him play… and shhh… I hope Pete Sampras is still as good as he was a few years ago so that he could stage up a good fight against the current most talented player and win the match. Many tennis commentator praise Federer as the most naturally talented tennis player.
Federer will play Sampras on 22 November at Malawati Stadium. Two days prior (20 November) to their match, Richard Gasquet will take on current world number 2, Rafael Nadal at the same venue. Richard Gasquet is a top player from French.
So, have you booked a place to watch these great tennis matches touted as Clash of the Times? I did a quick check just now, there are still some seats available. I am sure you don’t want to miss out this opportunity to watch them in person. Quickly do your booking now. Ticket prices range from RM83 to RM443.
By the way, anyone knows what’s the court surface in Malawati Stadium?

I like both men as they are really cool-headed players. Humble on the court as well as seldom blow their tops against the opponents and umpires.
u & che-cheh should go together!
I just received my tickets too.
Not too sure about the court surface.
Wow. Good for you. You should hold a blog contest and give the tickets away. LoL! Let me know if you decide to do so.

Che-cheh, they send u the tickets ady…
Whoa whoa!
hey, where did u guys buy the tickets?
Jam,
Yes, they are my favorite tennis players. On the other hand, Nadal is good, but he doesn’t have the champion charisma.
Wuching,
Date her, right?
Che-Cheh,
Clay court? Haha…
James,
Not many tennis fans here. Too bad.
Yivon and wk,
We bought the tickets online. Check out ticketpro.com.my
thanks Neo!
To the original question of the surface, its indoor, so carpet or hard.
Whoever organised this is a genius - money all round, everybody happy. Whoever won will not prove anything. RM83 cheapest - I’ll give this a miss.
