CHIP computer magazine

I think it’s time for me to update myself… it’s bad, I haven’t read any IT or gadgets magazine for a long time. I was in Tesco Puchong when I ran into The News, a small newspaper and magazine store, which is located at the entrance to the hypermarket. I did some quick browsing and decided to pick up CHIP Malaysia, a locally produced computer and gadgets magazine. Standard price for this kind of magazine, RM9.90.

I haven’t read the pages, but let me browse through and see what are the interesting subjects it covers. Stay tight… they must be interesting!

The first baby that caught my attention is this O2 XDA Zinc PDA phone. The design of the phone looks absolutely appealing. Apart from the usual standard mobile phone features, this baby is 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, infra red, and miniUSB capable. All these connectivity features will enable the user to easily go online even on the move! Great, but the price isn’t so great at RM2,699 otherwise I would have dashed to Low Yat now!

The HTC TyTN II is an even better mini computer simply lookinh at its QWERTY sliding keyboard. On connection wise, it supports every connection you’ve ever wanted on a mobile device. Bluetooth, WiFi, EDGE, and GPRS are all included. But, this baby comes with HSDPA support too for high speed data transfer whenever WiFi is not available. When we come to the picture department, you can surely rely on its 3.0 megapixel camera! Did I mention GPS is also packed in? Price? RM3,088. Don’t faint now… we have more goodies to look at…

Okay, enough of expensive gadgets. Let’s learn something more useful today and where else is better to do that other than The Digital Salon? This time the sifu teaches us how to touch up a photo using Photoshop. I am sure we all want to master these useful tricks which fix skin tones, skin blemishes and whitens the teeth.
Forget about fairness creams and anti-aging lotions. Let your computer give your portraits a free-of-charge makeover. You will have your friends thanking you for making them look so good!
Now, for Windows freaks, you may be interested to read the Detoxifying Windows section which covers ways to among others, clean-up and secure Windows, tweak some advanced settings for IE7, install Vista, and of course setting Windows XP and Vista on one computer. Some freeware tools are used in these exercises, and to make it easier for readers all these tools are available in the free CD included with the magazine.
You want more? Go buy the CHIP Malaysia magazine lar. Less than RM10.

I only read CLEO and FEMALE..
Keeyit,
CLEO and FEMALE are two good magazines because they show a lot of pretty girls. But I never buy them before, just browsed them for free in news stands.
i think nokia comes out with one which runs on linux.. dun remember the model, something like sidekick, but said to be smaller than iphone
Clement,
Nokia on Linux? Worth checking if the pricing is less than RM2k, but I think is not likely.
