Horde of ants ravaged my car
Feb 24th, 2008 by Neo
I was at this place the other day but I wouldn’t want to reveal where it was. You can just assume the place is bushy and has meters tall grass and is my usual hideout place for some hanky panky stuff. But the important thing was, after the deed I was totally horrified to find my car was being ravaged by hordes of big ass ants! Black color type. There were thousands of them if not tens of thousands!

OMG… I was completely stunned as I didn’t know what I should do to chase them away! They were everywhere and in every corners of the car, on the windscreen, bonnet, side mirrors, tail lights, tires, and etc. Should I pour petroleum over my car and burn it down?! While I was considering this my friend was a little more patient and she brought me a bottle of Ridsect! There after it took us an hour or so to shower the whole car with it.
I didn’t bring my camera then so couldn’t take any pictures to show you. The pic you seen above was taken on the next day… yes, there were still ants even we have “washed” the whole car with Ridsect just the day before! I guess the ants must be hiding in some inner cracks or even in the car engine. I sprayed more Ridsect and killed a few more of those bloody ants and shot the above picture.
In the afternoon, I brought the car for a complete car wash! The car was smelling like a bottle of Ridsect now… hahaha!

The following photos were taken at the car wash. On another note, I think Ridsect is not very efficient in killing ants. Those products are only effective in killing or chasing away mosquitoes and cockroaches, you think right or not?

Even then, there were still ants popping out from nowhere. Can you see the ant on the side mirror above? They were so annoying… I immediately asked the car wash supervisor to wash my whole car; outside, inside vacuum and wash the engine as well.
Let you see some photos.

There, two assistants working on my car.

Drying the water on the car engine with a blower.

And finally, they employed an industrial strength vacuum machine to suck out each and every ants which were still hiding in the car.
The total damage for this was only RM12. Cheap or not? Hehe… anyway after that the car looked like brand new again… just like a chick coming out from a saloon like that. Very fresh, beautiful and inviting!

That is cheap. If in Penang, this would cost at least RM15
Dude, it’s shocking. Where the hell did those ants come from.
Btw nice car. Do show us if your “personal friend” is as nice
Probably you ran over their nests.
Reena,
My car wash was done in Kuala Kangsar, no doubt it’s much cheaper compared to Penang.
Watcher,
Like Jason suggested, I think I must have ran over those beats’ nest! “Personal friend”… somehow I heard about this a lot in the news not too long ago…
Jason,
I believe so!
tsk tsk tsk itulah lu! paktor in the bushes summore squirt squirt all over your car no wonder the ants come! HAHAHAHAHAHA
I encountered once also when my friend’s car attacked by antsssss.. so geli I still can remember the situation.. ok same like you using Ridsect to kill the ants first then wash it..
The ants attack your car interior also ka?
I’m sure the ants masuk the car as well. I once parked under a tree and kena attack as well but not as worse as yours. After that I know why nobody want to park at that space.
You have got a nice car! BTW, I think spraying your car with Ridsect ain’t good for the car paint.
Wuching,
Sweet hor?!
keeyit,
Ridsect or burn the car. We have chosen the first choice.
Che-Cheh,
Thank God not so much got inside of the car. 99% were found outside of the car.
hcfoo,
Yupe, I will park far far from now onwards.
jam,
I didn’t want to burn my car to get rid of the ants. So I have chosen to use Ridsect instead.
Lesson learn, DO NOT eat candy in car
RM12 ok la… You not wet, not tired
I have the photo of your “personal friend”
Personal Friend
Wong,
OK, thanks sifu. No more candies in my car.
abeku,
Your personal friend looks so wicked!
I had the same problem before. What I did was, just put it under the hot sun for a day, or two.
They’ll ran away. Maybe some are left to rot on your dashboard, but the ants no longer haunt you.
Well I guess a sweet ride is bound to attract some attention.. haha.
[…] ants?… If you treated them like pets then you must be a really weird person. Look how these big ants ravaged my car earlier this year. This time, they become more ganas and are trying to attack my […]
Damn! I’m experiencing this as well these ays.. it really annoys me!! I sprayed Ridsect on it this evening. Hopefully it won’t come back again!!!
AbbyC,
If Ridsect failed, you might want to try the ants powder http://www.hot-screensaver.com/2008/05/16/the-ants/
Using the ants powder, you need to wait one to two days, though.
