Macadamia kernel
Mar 12th, 2008 by Neo
Have you seen this kind of nuts? It has a nice name too, Macadamia kernel… The pack it came in didn’t look very outstanding but the nuts inside certainly had raised my interest. Frankly I didn’t know what it was and have no idea how to eat it when I first saw it.

The shell is very hard, perhaps as hard as the “happy nuts” if not harder. It’s very difficult to crack it open and to make it easier the pack comes with an opener. You use it to crack open the shell and get the flesh inside.
Push an end of the opener inside a small crack on the shell and whack it open just like how I show you below.

The flash (or is it the seed?) inside didn’t taste very nice because I found it’s a little bland.

I think Macadamia kernel may be found in some chocolate products and they are still best eaten with the sweet chocolate products for by itself, it’s too bland to taste good.
