Amber Chia walks for Ivory Romance
Mar 25th, 2008 by Neo
What a great weekend it was! Just a stone’s throw away from Honda F1 road show there was another hot road show going on, and it was none other than Ivory Romance showcasing their latest wedding gowns and promoting their newest wedding packages. Many couples wannabe were their doing inquiries and singing up. But of course I wasn’t interested in the wedding packages, because I wanted to take photos of Amber Chia!
Yep, Malaysia’s top model Amber Chia was there walking for Ivory Romamnce.

She’s as sharp as aways… but perhaps a little too cool. But the simple stage for the road show was too short and narrow, so didn’t really get to see her did her professional catwalk thingy.

Another picture of crowd favorite, Amber Chia. One minute in black wedding gown, and another in a white one. Like magic!

Other than Amber, there were other beautiful ladies as well. Look at this attractive back… I mean attractive wedding dress. Hahaha… do you know who’s she?

Oh my goodness, she’s Joanne Yew! Who is Joanne Yew?… Knock your head on the wall… 5 times… wahaha… she is the champion for Miss Astro Chinese International pageant. That still doesn’t ring a bell? Did you watch Astro channels lately? She is the one who does the yoga demonstrations! Yupe, that’s the one.

Any idea who was the handsome dude in the pictures above? No, he’s not Neo from Hot-screensaver.com
I think he was some DJ from local television channel, 8TV. No idea what’s his name though.
Anyway, one thing which I need to mention is that the organizer actually did now allow us to take photos of the show. I was asked to not take any pictures just minutes into the show when I have only clicked a few times. I immediately obeyed and put down my camera. But barely seconds later I saw many other spectators took photos with anything from mobile phones to compare cameras and huge DSLRs! Damn, without a second thought I continued shooting… hahaha…

Oh yeah, Emily Poon was there walking for Ivory Romance too! She’s the 2nd runner up in the same Miss Astro Chinese International pageant. Last year’s, 2007.
Now, I just have to show you this picture below.

Love the eye contact. Lucky I snapped the instant she glanced through my lens. Hahaha… I am in heaven.
Of course other than models showing a wide selections of latest wedding dresses, the show was made more alive by dancers performing various interesting moves. Check out the following chicks who looked like the Cantonese star Twins.

Sweet. Any comments on my photos? I welcome all comments and criticisms. Post them in the box below.

The amber chia photo with white wedding gown, is in a good composition except too much light, may be can touch up for balancing exposure..i like her pounty lips.
For Emily Poon, she has to work out some more, the tummy spoil la..and the photo oversaturated must touch up for better look.
However, all the photo you make the background blur, it is a well done decision. It has made you photo great.—what camera ur using?
u didn’t camwhore with her or was that u in the last pic holding her hand? kekekeke
Wah they can change dress so fast?
Abeku,
You mean the photos are too warm? I have taken your advise and sort of corrected the problem with Photoshop’s photo filter, check out http://www.hot-screensaver.com/2008/03/26/photoshop-tutorial-how-to-use-photo-filter-to-counter-warm-colors/ to see the result.
Yes, I agree that Emily Poon’s tummy is quite obvious.
The photos were taken using Nikon 50mm f/1.8 so, a great fast lens and good in blurring the background. I am using Nikon D80.
Wuching,
No chance in camwhroing with Amber Chia. She chao faster than me, almost immediately after the show.
Che-Cheh,
Yes, they changed very fast. A must have talent for professional models.
Very nice pictures (and girls also..:)
Hey, u mean a non zoom lens can also blur background?? Sorry, im not a pro photographer, still learning..
Russ,
Actually nowadays you might leave everything to Adobe Photoshop for touching a photo, isnt right Neo?
Russ,
Whether the background is blurred or not has no relationship to whether it’s a zoom lens or not. You get blur background when the aperture is big, the bigger it’s the more blur the background becomes and the sharper is the foreground focus.
Fast lens with apertures f2.8 or f1.8 are usually good for this kind of portrait shots. I strongly recommend Nikon 50mm f1.8 for this.
Abeku,
Of course Photoshop can help in enhancing the effect you want, but it can’t do a lot of magic all the time. You still need a good camera and good lenses.
You can certainly use the blur filter in Photoshop to blur a photo’s background. But this technique does not create true depth as it blurs everything in the background uniformly rather than independently based on distance from the lens. An image blurred “in camera” collects visual information from a scene that a PhotoShop blurred image can never achieve. Thus, using a good DSLR camera and appropriate lens, you get more realistic photos.
wow…nice photos……just to tell you that the dude name is Jeffrey Cheng
should be well-known model in malaysia
Why Ambia Chia help Ivory Romance to cheat people..Was her fan, now no more…..
