Oily doughs for breakfast
May 3rd, 2008 by Neo
I guess I am running out of ideas what to write today until I have to show you my breakfast. But I am sure you are interested to find out what I had this morning but don’t blame me if the pictures make you water two buckets!
I love this local delicacy which is known as by many names, such as “yau ja gwai” or “youtioa”. Basically, these are fried oily doughs.

I bought five sticks and with the price increase lately, it now costs RM0.60 a stick. RM3 could only get me 5 sticks. If you were naughty and did some counting you won’t see all the 5 sticks in the pictures because two of them had been stolen.

This picture is taken at high ISO of 1600 because of the low light condition when I did this close up shot. Noise is visible if you look carefully. Perhaps in a later post I will show you how to lessen this kind of noise in Photoshop. ![]()

Che-Cheh,
Oily doughs and porridge is a perfect match.
Khengsiong,
I was too lazy to fix the external flash on the camera. So, just opted for high ISO and open the aperture as wide as possible. Then edit the levels in Photoshop.
Jam,
Where in Sibu I can get the best “yau ja gwai” in this world?
