Kuala Selangor seafood
May 8th, 2008 by Neo
Just when I thought I have nothing to write again today, I realized I have neglected to show you our dinner which we had at Kuala Selangor after the unforgettable encounter with the Malawati Hill monkeys. What’s nice to eat in Kuala Selangor? Of course its exotic fresh seafood which is very famous here.

We were not sure which restaurant to go to though, but upon reaching the end of the road which we were on (not sure what’s the name), there were two large restaurants. One being River View Seafood Restaurant and the neighboring one is called Jeti Seafood. We decided to choose the Jeti Seafood as there were slightly more patrons.

These two restaurants appear to be two anchor outlets occupying two of the most vantage slots. Both of them are by the river, strategically protruding to offer panoramic views the of the Selangor river. It was just after 7pm I believe, and we quickly did our orders… before more patrons were in and that might delay our food.
While waiting… naturally I explored the place and took some pictures.

Well, what else? Say hi to my readers! Haha, notice her apple hair style… so cute, isn’t it?!

That’s part of the River View Seafood Restaurant with its great panoramic of the Selangor river. Anyway, before I realized it was getting pretty dark but I still managed to snap this nice sunset photo. OK, not too bad lar.

Now back to our food, shall we? We ordered a few dishes which include… damn… I am no good in naming seafoods. Perhaps I will just show you some photos and you tell me what do you call them.

While we were savoring the delicious seafood, the river was not lack of activities. There were a couple of boats which some fishermen on board… I presume they were fishermen by the look of it. I snapped the following photo.

After dinner, we took an obligatory group photo, went to the nearby seafood stores and grabbed some prawn crackers and called it a day.

The seafood was just all right, nothing much to shout about. The total bill came to just over RM80 which I think was fairly priced, but then we didn’t order a lot of stuff. The drive back to KL was pretty tiring because it had been such a long day…

All the dishes come in small plate…or maybe the way you took them…like optical illusion. hehe
Hi Neo,
I think you overdid the bokeh for the seafood pics. Maybe you can try f2.2 onwards or try composing the shots above the food instead next time. The white balance on some of the shots are a little off too, not that I’m that good with white balance myself.
I like the sunset picture though, nonetheless =)
Have a great weekend!
you tempting me with food again, just make sure you chia me kau kau when we meet!
heard about those 2 places from my previous room mate. still haven’t had the chance to try out
80bucks sounds reasonable to me
Che-Cheh,
Yes, they were quite small portions. I actually had intentions to order more but my friends thought otherwise.
Raymond Chan,
Yes, I should have used f2.2 and above. I am not too concerned about the white balance though.
wuching,
What are you going to chia me?
satkuru,
Must go and try. Go play with the monkeys, savor the seafood and then catch some fire flies!
Nice sunset photos. I did take sunset shots at Pulau Indah, but there were too many man-made structures in the images

I haven’t seen the kelip kelip ler. Next time must go!
jam,
Then who took the photo?
You are right ho, silly me…
Hi, actually you made a mistake. Those restaurant you went wasn’t the best. All big big shop for show only. The food aren’t the best there. Next time when you go there look for small shops. There are much better ones. Such as the hai ping one.
