I think you have absolutely enjoyed the preview of the Miss Malaysia Universe 2008, you have to admit the semi finalists are all so beautiful and gorgeous! Today, let’s zoom in and have a closer look at the contestants. There are all together 14 of them, and I think each one of them represent a state or territory in Malaysia. Pardon me, I didn’t really catch what the emcee was talking when he introduced each one of them as I was too busy with my DSLR and capturing the beautiful moments which I wouldn’t want to miss.
The “show” started at about 3pm at Summit USJ. I was super glad it was delayed because I was late for nearly an hour as the event at Summit was originally scheduled at 2pm.
All the contestants cat-walked out, lined up and formed a nice formation on the stage. They were in their casual wear, and one by one they came forward to introduce themselves. All of them are beautiful. I just couldn’t stop clicking…
After the quick introduction from all the beauties, they quickly changed and came out with a refreshing look - in sports wear. Wow, all of them look really nice, but none of the are athletic.
Among them, I like contestant number one the most. Not sure if it is because of her mini skirt, or her look. But what’s sure is she is really sweet!
Guest what, she’s from the Land of the Hornbill, Sarawak! Sarawakian babes are the best, it’s so true! Too bad, I couldn’t recall what’s her name. 
Look at her sports wear, so different from the usual ones. What kind of sports is suitable to wear like this you think?
I am sure you don’t mind looking at another close up picture of the Sarawakian girl.
Okay, we should pay respect to the other girls and at least post a couple of their photos.
What do you think of this girl? I am not exactly sure she was representing which state though.
How about this contestant? Do you think she’s slightly overaged? Oh my, hope she won’t see this.
I think we better get back to our Sarawak representative. Here’s herself in her glorious night gown! I was there at the side of the stage waiting anxiously for her to turn my way so that I could shoot a better close up picture of her, with eye contact, but too bad, it didn’t happen. 
No luck.
The emcee was perhaps the luckiest man that afternoon. He got to stay close with all the beauties and even have a few words with them.
This was perhaps the girl’s most difficult “interview” of her life. The answers could perhaps determine whether or not she will win the close to RM200k worth of prizes.
I think I got carried away with these beautiful girls… I didn’t realize I have posted so many photos… problem, my bandwidth is going to suffer. Haha… let’s fast forward to see who eventually were crowned as the winners, or in fact the finalists.
Who else? My girl of course. It’s so very natural for her to win double titles and elected to go into the finals which will be held at The Gardens hotel tonight! Yes, if I heard the emcee correctly - the finals is going to be tonight!
The two titles she bagged are something like Miss Summit USJ Personality, and Miss Dainti Hill Elegance. Can’t exactly hear and remember what the emcee said.
Of course there are other beauties apart from my Sarawak girl. These 3 other finalists are very beautiful and elegant as well. The one in sparkling red (2nd from left) also bagged two titles: Miss Scruples Malaysia, and Miss Chezz Technique Crowning Glory. Really long and mouthful names, but these are all the sponsors’ names I believe.
After the winners of the day were crowned, the organizers were cute enough to have a photo session for the photographers.
All the winners lined up for us to take as many photos as we want. You say cute or not? Haha… I love all of them!
Now, which one do you think is the most beautiful? Sarawak girl?

My hands were shaking and sweating seeing all those beautiful girls. You not bad too, I think you were at Sungai Wang shooting toys! Haha…

Okay, firstly I am a beginner in DSLR. Anyway, I was using Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3. The setting wise, I used very high ISO, 1600 and above, aperture as wide as the lens can handle at the zoom level, and shutter about 100 to 150 I think.

Hope you get it sorted out already. Go into CPanel, and change the MySQL database user’s password, or simply add a new user.

P/S does your lens has OS (Optical Stabilizer)? If it doesn’t, shutter speed of 1/100 sec is too slow.

have to agree with you on the winner. quite a looker but the first picture of her, the make up is kinda heavy
but other than that, i guess she looks the best compared to the others

Yes, the lens has Optical Stabilizer. I know the shutter speed is too slow, but can’t help it because the aperture is not wide enough on this general purpose lens. I think I need to get a good indoor lens (with wide aperture) when my wallet allows. There is one from Tamron I think quite good.
On the models part, so far I have no luck in getting my friends to model too. Perhaps we can ask the lenglui representing Sarawak, Miss Valerie Chan?
