Have you received the new security-enhanced and packed with features Astro smart card? Well, I have just received mine a few days ago.

However I have yet to change the old smart card to this new one because the old one is still working well. Not too sure what new security features Astro has loaded on this new version. Will wait until I can’t view any Astro program then I will change.

What do you think? Do you like the plain vanilla design or you think Astro could do better than that?

Features? What features? I got mine, installed it, it worked, nothing new at all.

Not surprisingly. Nothing new at all – we have replaced the pay TV smart card a couple of times over the years already, right?

Just change the new one. Once change liao the old card will not be able to use liao.

The reason why they do this is because there are quite a number of fake Astro cards out there. Once this batch has been implemented, those who has been using the fake ones would not be able to use the service for free liao.

This new gold card is harder to replicate i guess compare to the one ones.

I heard this new card give security to Astro only…to prevent cloning that smart card. Previous one, ppl clone in and use to watch different channels on 2 or 3 tv. Using 1 satelite dish, 2 or 3 decoders and only pay to one account. hehehe..thats what i heard…no diferent to us maaa..
