Y.B Datin Seri Jeanne Abdullah launches Rakan Muda Remaja Siber
Jul 2nd, 2008 by Neo
Did I tell you there was a VVIP present to officiate and launch the Rakan Muda Remaja Siber? Well, it was none other than Y.B Datin Seri Jeanne Abdullah, wife of Malaysia’s Prime Minister. She was accompanied by a few other VIPs which included Y.B Dato Ismail Sabri Bin Yaakob, Youth and Sports Minister. Okay, I think this is enough for an introduction, otherwise I will really sound like a reporter, hor?

Frankly, I don’t know much about this “Rakan Muda Remaja Siber” thingy as I just happen to come here after the Dog event at Central Park. But of course it was such an honor to be able to see our Prime Minister’s wife in person at such a close distance. I was thrilled to be able to take her pictures as well.
Of course, the Youth and Sports Minister couldn’t escape but had to say a few words.

I couldn’t pay much attention to Dato Ismail Sabri’s speech because while he was busy on the stage, I wasn’t free on the floor. I was pretty busy checking out some of the exhibits. They included two laptops, but my attempt to touch them was declined by this brather because he said they were for the ministers to browse the Youth portal 2-u.com.my.

I was a little tulan, but never mind lar… give face to the big people lar.
These days whenever you can’t get a good domain name because someone else has already grab it, you just add 2u to the domain name. Thanks to Maybank2u who popularize this naming convention.
Let’s fast forward a bit and see how the officials explained the youth portal to Datin Seri Jeanne Abdullah.

Our Sports Minister looked like a little bored? Yes, perhaps he was bored, but not after he picked up the Wii Remote. Look how happy he was swinging away… haha… in fact he did make all the people there laugh!

In case you are curious, he was playing bowling on Wii there. I was surprised to see that Rakan Muda actually promote Wii as one of the healthy sports or games for youths. Perhaps it’s more family friendly compared to games available for PS3 and Xbox.
Okay, I think that’s enough of formality. Now, the moment you have been waiting for is here. Let’s see some Shuffle contest videos, including one by the famous Funkafaction group!
Nice? But why the brother in the middle paused to undo his glove?
Oh yes, there were girls participants too. What do you think? Can win prizes like this or not?
Ghost shuffle. Ok, don’t want to scare you, it’s actually disguised by the group Funkafaction.
I can’t help myself but want to talk a bit about camera and photography. Do you know what’s the biggest advantage of a compact camera other than that it’s compact, sleek and cheaper in price, compared to a dSLR? Well, it’s that you can use a compare camera to shoot videos, but you can’t do that with a dSLR! That’s the single reason I still carry my compact camera around. See, the above videos were shot using my good old point-and-shoot camera.

Wow!!What a such brilliant coverage of event do you attend..that is why la i keep saying that you are so damn lucky la.
I don’t understand this “Rakan Muda Remaja Siber” thing. What’s the objective of ‘club/movement/program’?
Whenever I need to take video I use my phone. Haha. My compact point-and-shoot is now usually most useful when I want silent shooting and convenience. Cos my phone also cannot silent the shutter sound.
Abeku,
Lucky in what area?
Narrowband,
I am not sure… I was there to look see look see, and to take photos only.
Sounds like your compact point-and-shoot is very useful in situations where you want to capture spy shots!
wow.. i was there too..
