Badminton, Hong Kong Open Super Series 2008, Lin Dan, Chen Jin and Lee Chong Wei
Dec 1st, 2008 by Neo
Well, the weekend was a boring one as I didn’t go anywhere interesting. At first, I planned to go to Bukit Jalil for some photo shooting – there was was a drift for charity at Bukit Jalil, so I believe there were plenty of modified cars and drifting actions to capture. But, the plan was canceled as at the last minute my friends invited me for badminton at Michael’s Badminton Academy, Bandar Puteri Puchong.
I was contemplating which one I should go… but being a badminton freak, I opted for badminton instead of photo shooting at Bukit Jalil. I could shoot my friends playing badminton too!

I reached the court slightly after 6pm and my friends had already started the game. I did some shots using my old compact Sony Cybershot. I didn’t bring my dSLR as I didn’t want to keep two eyes on my bag while we were playing…
Not surprisingly, the pictures were mostly blurry as the response from the old camera was really slow. The good thing is it can capture videos too!
Now, do you think we played like Lin Dan? However, in the Hong Kong Open Super Series, he was beaten by compatriot Chen Jin in the Men’s singles final.
Lee Chong Wei, the world number one had withdrawn much earlier due to knee injury. But to me it looks more like an injured ego after losing to his nemesis, Lin Dan a couple of weeks ago. Chong Wei said he was only taking precautionary measures not to aggravate the recurring knee injury.

Malaysia’s only hope in the Super Series was in the Men’s doubles of Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif/Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari. But too bad, they were beaten in a nerve-wracking finals with a score of 25-23, 19-21, 22-20. So near and yet so far…
Wakaka…
