My shuttlecocks collection
Dec 2nd, 2008 by Neo
Since we talked about badminton yesterday, I thought I might as well show you my huge collection of shuttlecocks. All right, in fact there isn’t a lot of shuttlecocks, only a few dozens.
I used to collect second hand shuttlecocks after each game, and plan to use it to train my kids. But then I realize we could not keep them for too long as the shuttlecocks tend to “disintegrate” after a year or so in storage.

From the picture you can see we have used a lot of brands from Gosen and RSL to Protech and RCL. A few years ago, Gosen was a more well known brand and we simply loved their shuttlecocks, but not anymore now. I think these days we use Protech more.

The feathers of these shuttlecocks have degraded and dried out, and the heads (the white round part that you hit) have brittled. So they are no longer playable and I have no choice but to trash them after this.

Protech is not bad. The feathers on the shuttle can last for a bit.
*sigh* Miss those badminton days when my knee was better.

Khengsiong,
Maybe because I am too cheap. But that was years ago… now I no longer collect because I realize I can’t keep them for long. Maybe 6 months max.

I don’t play anymore due to my bad knees.
